   COMPAQ DESKPRO 286N

      The Compaq Deskpro 286N comes standard with 1MB on the system board.
      These system boards are expandable to 13MB using Intel 72-pin memory
      modules in a Compaq memory expansion board.

      There are two SIMM slots (labeled 0 & 1) on the system board.  Slot 0
      on the system board must be filled before additional memory is
      recognized.  When using the optional Compaq expansion board, fill
      slots 0 and 1 on the system board then install two SIMMs on the add-
      in board in slots 2 and 3 (leave slot 1 blank).

      After adding memory, run the computer's configuration program: press
      the F10 key while the cursor blinks at the far right of the screen
      just after turning on the computer.

   COMPAQ 386S

      SIMM Sockets:  4
      Standard Memory:  2MB (1 2MB SIMM)
      Maximum System Board Memory:  16MB

      The system board has three vertical SIMM connectors and one
      horizontal SIMM connector.  The horizontal connector was used to
      avoid interfering with add-in boards.

      A few error codes which you might see are:
         164 Memory Size Error, Run Setup
         201 Memory Error, Memory failure, Check SIMMs.
         203 Memory Address Error, Memory failure, Check SIMMs
         207 Invalid Memory Configuration, SIMMS installed incorrectly,
          verify installation.
         208 Invalid Memory Module in Bank X, SIMMS installed incorrectly,
          verify installation.

   COMPAQ PORTABLE 486C

      The Compaq Portable 486c comes standard with 4MB of memory in one of
      the four sockets on the system's processor board.  The processor
      board is expandable to 32MB.
