 JTFAX AND QUIKBUF

Customer reports the JTFAX software and QUIKBUF2 won't work together.

If the JTFAX memory resident software and QUIKBUF2 are loaded, incoming
     and outgoing FAXes are corrupted.

     {JTFAX 4800 external (serial link) fax}

 C. ITOH 310

This printer has 3 modes - the ship configuration is Mode 1 which
doesn't work with print buffers. Change to Mode 2 and it should work
     fine.

It isn't known if all C. ITOH printers have multiple modes.

 HP LASERJET PLUS AND QUIKBUF

QUIKBUF supports the HP LaserJet Plus as a serial printer. Use the S1
parameter. Intel does not recommend using QUIKBUF with the parallel
port version of the LaserJet, they are very slow together.

 IBM MODEL 30 AND QUIKBUF

Earlier versions of Quikbuf cause keyboard lockups in the Model 30.

EMM 4.0 Rev A diskettes or later have a new Quikbuf that eliminates
     this problem.

 IBM XT & 101 KEYBOARD

If the IBM-XT has an upgrade BIOS to use the 101 keyboard, the system
will lock if any other key than 1-7 (for the menu items) is pressed
when using Quikbuf. A cold boot is then necessary.

 IBM 3270 PC & QUIKBUF

Put Quikbuf AFTER 3270 control programs in Autoexec.bat file.

IBM 5128 SERIAL PRINTER AND QUIKBUF

This printer needs a special IBM driver for PC use. This driver is
incompatible with most PC print buffer software including QUIKBUF.

 IBM 5250 AND QUIKBUF

The 5250 'System 36 printer emulation' won't work with QUIKBUF
     installed.

 IBM EGA & QUIKBUF

With QUIKBUF software that shipped with EMM versions earlier than 4.0,
it will be necessary to disable the QUIKBUF pop-up menu when using an
EGA Adapter. (Put `o' in quikbuf command line.). With QUIKBUF software
that shipped with versions 4.0 and higher, a parameter was added so the
pop-up menu can be supported, (put an "e" on the command line).

IBM VGA GRAPHICS BOARD & QUIKBUF

The IBM VGA graphics board provides the VGA graphics standard from the
PS-2 line to AT's and PC's. For QUIKBUF software shipped with 4.0C (or
later) EMM.SYS drivers, choose the VGA option for the QUIKBUF pop-up
     menu.

For older software (that doens't show a VGA option) choose the EGA
option. For the extremely old software that doesn't even have an EGA
option, choose "Other", this will allow the print buffer to work, but
there won't be access to the pop-up menu.

 PLOTTERS AND QUIKBUF

Quikbuf is designed to buffer output to conventional printers. Because
the timing loops in plotters are so different from printers, Quikbuf is
unlikely to provide buffering to plotters.

 QUADBOARD AND QUIKBUF2

The Quadboard parallel port conflicts with the Intel Quikbuf2 print
buffer. Quikbuf2 will not work if a Quadboard is present in a system.

This is true even if Quikbuf2 is printing through another parallel
     port.

Quadram has an expanded memory print buffer that does work with their
     port and our EMM.

 SPERRY PC-PCHT & QUIKBUF

May not be able to format diskettes when quikbuf is installed.

We suggest that customers format several diskettes in advance so they
won't need to use the format command very often. When they need to
format diskettes they can rename their AUTOEXEC.BAT file (this will
prevent quikbuf from being loaded), reboot their system to remove
quikbuf, format several diskettes, then change their renamed autoexec
back to its original name and boot again to return to normal operation.

 TANDY 3000 & QUIKBUF2

Cannot format diskettes in 1.2M disk drive when QUIKBUF2 is installed.
