UNDOCUMENTED PARAMETERS OF QUIKBUF

QUIKBUF version 2.1, included with the latest release of the Intel utility
software (version 4.0A or higher), has two parameters not documented in
the manual that may help you to fine tune QUIKBUF for your hardware. Use
these parameters only if QUIKBUF is not printing at normal speed.
  PRINTER BUSY (PB) PARAMETER

This parameter specifies the amount of time QUIKBUF waits for the printer
to finish its various functions. The parameter has the following format:
            PB=nnnn

Where "nnnn" is a value that determines the wait time. To use this
parameter, start with the default value listed in the Default Values
section. Then change that value (up and down) in increments of 50 until
you see an improvement in printing speed. Then use increments of 16 to
  fine tune.

Some printers (such as the HP LaserJet) need finer adjustments to find an
optimal value. Increments of 50 will probably bypass the highest speed.
In this case, use increments of 16 or less.

  MC PARAMETER

The MC parameter specifies maximum characters QUIKBUF will send the
printer per clock tick. The parameter has the following format:
        MC=nn

Where "nn" specifies the number of characters. To use this parameter,
start with the default value listed in the Default Values section. Then
change that value (up and down) in increments of two until you see an
improvement in printing speed. Then use increments of one to fine tune.

  DEFAULT VALUES

Use these MC and PB default values to determine a practical starting point
from which to begin your adjustments:

computer/printer combination may require different values.

  EXAMPLES

Here is an example of what your command line might look like the first
  time you load QUIKBUF2:

       C:>QUIKBUF2 256 AT E P MC=25 PB=3500

You can do subsequent adjustments of the MC and PB parameters without
rebooting your computer and without specifying other command line
  parameters:

       C:>QUIKBUF2 MC=23 PB=3450

Disregard the error 510 "can't set up more than one buffer" message; this
  is expected.

Don't change QUIKBUF values from a DOS shell; you'll receive unpredictable
  results.
