Christian and Messianic Discussion Areas on Pay Systems:

Compuserve

Compuserve is based in Ohio. It is accessible either through Compuserve's
own access network, or via iNet and other systems. Costs vary according to
time of day and modem speed. There are several graphical access programs
available for various computers. To access the Religion Forum, enter "GO
Religion" at any "!" prompt.

Cyberstore

Cyberstore is based in New Westminster, BC. I am in the process of
rebuilding my Suzy IN there. To get on Cyberstore, connect via modem to
(604) 526-3676 or Datapac address 8350 1030. Once you connect, type
"cocotext" at the login prompt, and follow directions carefully from there.
Eventually, it will allow you to "specify username". Pick that, and type
"new", then you can register on-line. It costs users $89.00 per year to
sign up, and then there are no hourly fees to use the system if people call
the system directly. If they call via Datapac, they are charged the
Datapac connect charges ($5.00/hour). There is a free graphical interface
program for MS-DOS users with Hercules, EGA, or VGA. For more information,
phone (voice) (604) 526-3373.

Ecunet

Ecunet is based in the Louisville, KY. It is the the official
communications system of about a dozen denominations, including the
American Baptists, United Church of Christ, Episcopalians, etc. Any
denomination can set up its own section if it signs up a minimum of 25
users. There is also a graphical shell to use that system, and it costs
about $50.00. Usage is $11.00 per month, plus 20 cents a minute during
prime time, and 11.6 cents during non-prime, to connect through the 800
number. You can reach Ecunet by calling (voice) (800) 733-2863. The modem
line is (800) 528-4083. The direct modem line in Louisville is
(502) 569-8501. When you connect by modem, press <Enter> until you get a
"username" prompt. Enter "signup", and then enter the code for your
denomination. (To get this, call the Ecunet information line at
(800) 733-2863.)

At the moment, I do not have a list of discussion areas on Ecunet.

iNet 2000

iNet is accessible through Datapac, and is available anywhere in Canada.
Canadian users can obtain access by arrangement with the phone company in
their province or Territory. Access charges are $16.50 per hour from 08:00
to 18:00, and $12.35 per hour all other times. There are additional
charges for some of the services available on iNet. There is a shell
program available for MS-DOS users. The cost is $179.95.

The only Christian service I know of on iNet is called Ministry.Net. It is
a private message system for ministers with the Canadian Baptist
Federation. For access, compose an iNet mail message to s.belmore.
