The Computer Aided Ministry Society of Canada (CAMsoc) is based in
Vancouver, BC. It was started in November, 1988, to facilitate
communication between Christians interested in using computers in the
service of Christ. At the moment, there is no charge for CAMsoc
membership. CAMsoc provides information for interested users through
several means:

1. The society newsletter, CAMsoc Update, is included in Church
Bytes: The Church Computing Magazine. It is available through
 subscription from:

Church Bytes, Inc. 562 Brightleaf Square #9
905 West Main Street, Durham, NC, 27701.

2. The official CAMsoc BBS is Agape BBS in Coquitlam, BC. You can
call Agape with your modem set at 300, 1200, or 2400 bps. The number
is: (604) 931-1416. CAMsoc members have access to a private message
 area on Agape.

3. News of interest to Christian computer users is discussed on an
international echomail discussion called CITC_NET (for Computers In
The Church NETwork) CITC_NET is allied with the PARCOM (PARish
COMputing) echo. If you have a modem, you can access these echoes
through any BBS which carries them. If your sysop carries echomail,
but does not yet get CITC_NET/PARCOM, they can find out how to get
connected by contacting me through netmail at the addresses below.

4. Several databases of information are available. All of these
databases have been written for File Express, which is available as
shareware. Contact your local BBS and ask for File Express, and the
 following files:

NETMAP50.ZIP Christian and Messianic Jewish BBS database.
CRSOFT40.ZIP Church-Related Software database, listing software
for MS-DOS, Macintosh, Apple II, Commodore 64/128,
Amiga, Atari, and other computers. Over 800 records.
 CRSLIST.ZIP ASCII reports from CRSOFT.

5. Once a year, CAMsoc promotes a Computers In The Church Conference.
The next one is planned for February, 1992. Contact us for more
 information.

6. CAMsoc is also present on Cyberstore. CAMsoc files are available
in the Religion File Exchange. To connect to Cyberstore dial via
modem to (604) 526-3676, or, in Canada, connect to Datapac and enter
address 8350 1030. At the login prompt, enter "cocotext", and follow
 directions from there.
