                              Caesar as a:

                  H A I L, C A E S A R ! !

Caesar arrived in Egypt at a most perfect time. He started to take
over the small city of Alexandria, with a army of 1,200 men in the midst of
a struggle for power between the members of Egypt's royal house. Three years
earlier the ruler of Egypt had died, leaving as co-rulershis daughter Cleop-
atra and his young son ptolemy. Each had a group of crafty advisers who
were scheming to take the other from the throne. Several months before
Caesar landed in Egypt, Ptolemy's supporters had managed to force Cleopatra
from the country. But she had promptly raised an army and was preparing to
return to Egypt to fight for the throne.

Some people say even ealier before that, say that Caesar and Cleop-
atra had something going about 1-2 years before that.
