INSTRUCTIONS FOR SEPTEMBER 1990 DISK OF THE MONTH

NOTE: The following macros (files with the extension .WPM) must be copied
into the directory where your other macro files are kept. WARNING! If you
already have macros with the same name, you must rename the macros found on
this disk before they are copied onto your hard drive or your original macros
will be overwritten. Some of these files are styles (files with the extension
.STY). For 5.1, copy the style files into the directory specified in Setup
(Shift-F1), (6) Location of Files, (5) Style Files. For 5.0, copy the styles
files into your List Files (F5) directory. All other document files should be
copied to your List Files (F5) directory.

Included on this disk are the following files that work for 5.0 and 5.1 where
specified:

INITCAPS.STY (5.1/5.0 style library) - This style library contains three
styles: Drop Cap, Raised Cap and Hanging Cap. Note: Before using the
Drop Cap style, insert a tab set code so that the text will be close to
the dropped cap. Do this by pressing Format (Shift-F8), (1) Line, (8)
     Tab Set, (Ctrl-End), then in 5.0 set tabs at 1.27", 1.33", 1.4" and 1.5".
     In 5.1, set tabs at 0.27", 0.33", 0.4" and 0.5". Press Exit (F7) to
return to the document screen. Before using any of these styles, be sure
     to select a 10-point font in Format (Shift-F8), (3) Document and (3)
Document Initial Font. To select the styles, press Style (Alt-F8), (7)
Retrieve, type initcaps.sty and press (Enter). Highlight the desired
style and press (Enter). Type the first letter, press (Right Arrow) once
to move past the style off code and continue typing your text. When the
text has wrapped to the second line, place your cursor on the first
character in line two and press (Tab). You may need to adjust the line
height and add extra hard returns as described in the article. When
created, each of these styles contained a 24-point font code. You'll
need to edit the style to be sure the correct font has been selected. Do
so by pressing Style (Alt-F8), highlighting the desired style, pressing
     (4) Edit and (4) Codes. Make the necessary changes, then press Exit (F7)

MACRS51.ZIP - This compressed file contains the same text- editing macros as
MACRS50.ZIP, only these will be used in WordPerfect 5.1. If you're
already using alphabetic logic to prompt your recollection of your macro
names, you'll appreciate this method of naming macros for common text
editing functions. This logic is called "mnemonics." Perhaps you've
noticed that WordPerfect 5.0 or 5.1 menu choices can be selected with
either mnemonics or the WP 4.2 numeric choice.

The basic premise: All macros effecting words begin with "w". Those for
sentences begin with "s" and for paragraphs with "p." The macros can be
