AN ONLINE CLOCK FOR AMERICA ONLINE!!

NOTE: This tip is from GWRepJohn. Thanks John, this is a great one.. I've been using it since you sent it to me! Oh boy, look at the time!!

Using this tip, you will now have an "elapsed time" online clock showing hours, minutes and seconds.

From GeoManager, double click on Solitaire and click on the Maximize button (top right hand corner of window) to make it full screen. Click on the "Hand" (the face down stack of cards in the upper left hand corner) to start the clock. Now click on the Express button (blue 'E') and from the Startup menu select America Online.

Click on the Maximize button (top right hand corner of screen) to make the background screen a window. Resize the AOL window by placing your mouse on the bottom edge of the window (the cursor will change to a down arrow resting on an underscore). Click AND hold (drag) the right mouse button and move the bottom edge of the window downwards about half an inch or so or until only the word TIME is just visible. Release the mouse button.

You are now ready. Click on the SIGN ON button.

Another advantage of this 'clock' is that you can also multitask while downloading a file. Simply start your download and then click on any part of the 'clock' and from the Express menu select any other function.

If you need to play Solitaire, click on Welcome from the Express menu and select Appliances. When your download is completed you will hear a beep. Return to AOL via the Express menu.

I have tested this tip on all video modes and it works fine. CGA users might have to resize the AOL window as close to the word TIME as possible in order to see some of the buttons in the lower part of the screen while online.

Enjoy!
