   This shareware program will give you a shell within which to run Z-Modem,
letting you select Z-Modem, Y-Modem, X-Modem download or upload as well as
do basic file manipulations. Place HKZ.EXE in the same subdirectory as
DSZ.COM, and PROTOCOL.BAT in the GeoWorks "WORLD" subdirectory. You will
need to modify the .BAT file to reflect where DSZ and HKZ are.

   If you want to give the file the telecom icon in your world directory,
you can make a simple addition to your GEOS.INI file as follows...

        [fileManager]
        filenameTokens = {
                   *.EXE = "gDOS",0
                   *.COM = "gDOS",0
            PROTOCOL.BAT = "TERM",0      <--- Add this line!!
                   *.BAT = "gDOS",0
        }

  This will give you access to the external protocols while in GeoComm, just
jump back to the GeoManager and double click on PROTOCOL.BAT when your ready
to Download or Upload. I suggest you take GeoComm to an icon on the way out
so you can get back to it, otherwise the running copy hides under the
GeoManager and you need to find it when the transfers are done.

  One other note. Some modems turn themselves on when the comm program is
running, and off otherwise to save batteries on laptops (like mine!). I can
turn mine on all the time with a hardware switch so that it doesn't turn
off when the comm program shutsdown (getting to DOS), giving me a carrier
detect fail in DSZ. Others of you might need to turn DTR (Data Terminal
Ready) signal control off with the AT&D0 command. Don't forget to set it
back to &D2 when you're done (or just leave it if GeoComm is your primary
comm program!)

  The only down side to all this is that you can't work on other things while
the transfers take place (MultiTask), since this isn't a GeoWorks program
but a DOS program. Hopefully true GeoWorks programs will be coming soon.

  Thanks to GWRepDave for showing how this is done in GSZMODM2.EXE!
