Notes about the NASDAQ Ticker Symbol list:
------------------------------------------

(1) This list was taken from the Wall Street Journal's 'NASDAQ National
    Market Issues' section on March 11, 1991, alphabetically by company
    name (not ticker symbol).

(2) The symbols are all taken verbatim, including "Borl" (the only ticker
    symbol on the NASDAQ exchange listing in the WSJ with lowercase).
    This symbol is for Borland Intl, the PC software company (home of
    Turbo C++).

(3) Some stocks, such as preferred stocks (where common shares also exist),
    don't seem to have a separately-defined ticker symbol, so these have
    been omitted. There aren't many, so I don't suppose they'll be missed.
    The Wall Street Journal's listings, though they may not show 100% of the
    tradeable issues for this exchange, shows a much larger subset than the
    Globe and Mail, or the Financial Post.
