Type Mate

This is a program (or two actually) to set the delay before the typematic
starts. As you no doubt have noticed this is not possible to set with the
keyboard utility included with Windows. In DOS I have been using the shortest
delay possible (250 ms) for some years now and I always got irritated with
Windows slow typematic response.

TypeMate.exe should be installed in a Program Manager-group somewhere (perhaps
in a utils-group). This is the program that lets you change the delay in steps
of 250 ms (there are only those four delays available). You can choose whether
you just want to use the new delay this session or save the settings in your
Win.Ini-file (and use it now).

If you want to use the "save" option in TypeMate you must also use
SetSpeed.exe. This program should be placed in you \windows directory and you
should add a line in you Win.Ini-file that says:

load=SetSpeed.exe

This will make sure that the saved delay will be used automatically whenever
you start Windows.

PLEASE NOTE! TypeMate only works for AT and PS/2-machines! Do not try it on
anything else!
