Welcome to Commode 1.0 Alpha. Written by Michael Vincze. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT IS COMMODE? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Commode is a MS-Windows 3.1 program that is used in conjunction with the Windows File Manager. Commode allows you to drag and drop files from the File Manager onto a Commode icon or Commode window that will temporarily hold your file until you are sure you want it deleted (flushed.) Note Commode runs only with MS-Windows 3.1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AUTHORS NOTE. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Some people might find Commode offensive. The filenames and sounds may appear to be vulgar. If you do then please accept my apologies. Depending on user feedback I may change the filenames. Also for the future I plan on adding a filth level. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE READ! VERY IMPORTANT! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Commode 1.0 Alpha is being distributed freely in hopes that the author will get feedback from users. Feel free to make copies and distribute Commode 1.0 Alpha as you please (provided a fee is not incurred other than normal BBS fees.) But please do not alter any files. The only requirement is to have them in the same directory. If you add Commode to the Program Manager, then have the working directory point to the directory you placed Commode.Exe, Commode.Dll, and *.Wav in (Note: This is the Program Manager's default.) Bwcc.Dll must be placed either in the aforementioned directory or your Windows System Directory. For my system I have the following: C:\Commode\Commode.Exe C:\Commode\Commode.Ini C:\Commode\Clink.Wav C:\Commode\Fart.Wav C:\Commode\Flush.Wav C:\Commode\Piss.Wav C:\Commode\Plop.Wav C:\Commode\Ugh.Wav C:\Commode\Deepduki.Wav C:\Windows\System\Bwcc.Dll Since Commode plays .Wav files you must also have a sound driver installed. If you do not have a sound card, then you can still play Commode noises through your PC speaker. I have also included a PC-Speaker driver. In order to install this, you must unzip Speaker.Zip and install it per the provided MS-Windows 3.1 Control Panel icon and select Drivers. Consult the Windows manual for instructions on installing drivers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTRUCTIONS ON OPERATION. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Simply invoke Commode either from the File Manager or from the Program Manager like any other Windows program. Commode provides simple instructions under the Help Menu. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OTHER NOTES. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Special thanks goes to Alvin Crofts II for the sound provisions. Although Commode 1.0 Alpha is alpha code, every effort was made to ensure that Commode operates properly. Commode has been extensively tested and should not create any bogusness. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- END OF README.TXT. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
