AB The HIV/AIDS epidemic has undergone significant changes in the
population affected and the opportunistic infections most commonly seen
since the disease was first identified. Dental care providers must be
aware of the changing profile of this disease in order to provide
adequate assessment and treatment of their patients, and appropriate
       referrals to other healthcare providers.
