      BACKGROUND

When you upgrade to Stacker 4.0 from a previous version, you may
receive the message "This drive is too fragmented. Use the
Stacker Optimizer to optimize your drive and re-run SETUP from
the Stacker installation disk(s)." However, if the Setup process
re-introduces fragmentation, the update may fail again.

      SOLUTION

Do a quick Optimize, and then manually update the Stacker drive.

       1. Run the quick Optimize. At the DOS prompt type:
           SDEFRAG /Q <enter>
Even if your drive reports 0% fragmentation, continue with
           the optimization.
       2. After the optimization is complete, from the DOS prompt type:
           STACKER <enter>
       3. Locate the line concerning the drive that failed to update.
           For example:
           Drive C was drive C at boot time [D:\STACVOL.DSK = 115.3MB]
Note the drive letter in brackets, in this case D.
       4. From the DOS prompt
           type:
           HCONVERT DRIVE:\STACVOL.DSK /C
Where drive: is the drive letter you noted above.
       5. After the drive is updated, you should run the Optimizer to
take full advantage of Stacker 4.0's improved compression.
From the Stacker Toolbox in either DOS or Windows, choose
           Optimize, and select Full-MaxSpace.
