     5. At each workstation attached to the NetWare server, add the
following entries to NET.CFG (also known as SHELL.CFG):

PB FRAME MAX = 1024 <-(for NW 3.1x users only)
LI FRAME MAX = 1024 <-(for NW 3.1x users only)
          PB BUFFER = y

Replace y with any buffer value from 2 through 10.

For more information on these values, refer to the section "How the
Transmission Rate Control Algorithm Works" on pages C-2 and C-3 of the NetWare
SNA Links Administration Guide.

     6. From a workstation, log on to the server as "supervisor" (NetWare
3.1x) or "admin" (NetWare 4.x) or equivalent, copy the Update diskette, and do
the following:

          a. Copy the following files to file server directory SYS:\CSL:

                    CSL.NLM
              ICM_SPX.NLM
              IRWASM.NLM
                    RIPENH.NLM <-(for NW 3.1x users only)

          b. NetWare 3.1x users: Copy the PBURST.NLM file to the file
server directory SYS:\SYSTEM.

          c. NetWare 3.1x users: To have the latest the Packet Burst
support, Novell suggests that you change to VLMs. You can find the VLMs in
VLMUP1.EXE in NOVFILES.

     7. Update the AUTOEXEC.NCF file by loading the following files in the
EXACT order shown below:

load PBURST <-(for NW 3.1x users only)
          load SYS:\CSL\CSL
          load SYS:\CSL\RIPENH <-(for NW 3.1x users only)
          load SYS:\CSL\ICM_SPX
          load SYS:\CSL\IRWASM

     8. Update the STARTUP.NCF file by adding the following statement:

Set Maximum Physical Receive Packet Size = 4202

NOTE: For NetWare 4.01 users, before you load SNALKS.LAN, unload
the CSL.NLM file and reload it, then load the SNALKS.LAN file.
