WIA Extraordinary general meeting result
----------------------------------------

The result of the vote of no-confidence in the Council of the
NSW Division Of the W.I.A. was presented in a halting manner
on last week's WIA broadcast and , as a result, could have
been misheard. For those who did not hear it clearly, here is
the result of the vote:

In favour of the no-confidence vote 198
against 72
invalid votes 4
abstaining 2

I hope this clears up any misconceptions.

Results of QSLing.
Yes, it does get results when one sends a QSL card
direct with a suitable green stamp enclosed.

Today, 10th March 1994, VK2BQS opened his mail box to
find a card from USA, not unusual we agree... The card was
from a well known QSL Manager and was posted 24th Feb 1994.
Still not unusual.

It was for a QSO with ANGUILLA, now that is unusual as
BQS did not recall the contact and felt sure it was a new
country.
Wait, it shows a 2XSSB contact and it seems a long
time since anything other than RTTY has been QSLed. But it
does say TNX for QSL.

Oh boy, the date of QSO ... 11-1-79...Fifteen years?????

Dig out the log book (number one) and woe, nothing
under 11th January 1979, thinks???? (like greenbottle). Dig
again, for log book number two, and there on 1st Nov 1979 is
VP2EY and lo and behold, the QSL went direct with a green
stamp or equivalent, and this is the first reply.
And a check of other records shows that was the only
time VP2E was worked in 17 years.

        AINT PATIENCE WUNNERFUL..
