Use POPPRINT in DOS to fax any non-ASCII file. You run FAXMAN then
POPPRINT.
                    C:\MTEZ>faxman
                    C:\MTEZ>popprint
You do NOT run MTEZ. From your DOS application (Wordperfect for
example), >>> You set up a Printer Driver ( ** Epson FX85, RX80 or FX80 **
) in THAT application <<<. Then you press the 2 <shift> keys which will
give a 'beep'. Then PRINT the file from THAT application as you normally
would, except using the Epson FX/RX printer driver in place of your usual
driver. POPPRINT will capture the output, and when done converting,
present a window, ready to fax.
If the window does not appear, the TEMP directory in SET TEMP= or SET
TMP= in Autoexec.bat may not exist. Also may be TSR problem. If you get
garbage, you have the wrong Printer Driver in Word Perfect.
One thing you must also remember, Popprint CANNOT fax fonts BUILT-INTO
your printer. Only fonts actually SENT TO your printer, or built into MTEZ.
*** If you can print a non-English font on an 'English EPROM' Epson-9pin
printer with your software, then it will also FAX the font, as it is
Graphics output.
Because MTEZ faxes 'portrait' mode, if you fax from Lotus or some
other programs which will be WIDE, you will need to use the 'sideways'
print function of that software so it will fit on an 8" wide sheet of fax
paper. It would be the same as faxing to an Epson normal carraige 9-pin
printer.
Popprint uses conventional memory only. If you are not going to be
using Popprint you may want to remove it, and reload it only as needed.
                    C:\MTEZ>popprint /r
If the File is Windows, then save the document as a PLAIN TEXT (ASCII)
file and send it with FAX or MTEZ, not Popprint, and EXIT Windows before
faxing.
To change the hot-keys or other options, type POPPRINT ? to get the
help screen.
Once you have sent a file with POPPRINT, you will have a FAX file you
can send (header, logo, signature) with your fax.
                     >>> Manual receive of faxes <<<
If you got 1-disk MTEZ you can set RINGs in CAS setup to 6 or
more, and manually answer fax (when you pick up the phone) with
<ctrl><alt>A hotkey. If you have EMS, faxman will use it if you set that
feild in SETUP.
NITELINE is used (after Faxman) when you will be away from the
computer and want faxes printed as they are recv'd. It is not a good idea
to use NITELINE during the day (unless the PC is dedicated to fax) as it
ties up the PC quite a lot.
Recv'd faxes are GRAPHICS and may be viewed & printed from Expressfax
menu.
