12-16-93 Locked DTE

Locked DTE is just a setting the the software package. You tell it

LOCKED=YES or Autobaud=NO. or Follow Connect=NO and the software will only

talk to the modem at the speed You set, letting the modem handle modem-

modem communications, and ignoring any CONNECT XXXX messages.

For equipment with no software, you connect the modem to a terminal

(or with terminal software) and set the speed, stop, parity and bits. Type

AT&W to the modem and the modem is set and will 'wake up' at that setting

whenever powered on. It automatically sets the correct register (bits) when

it gets the AT command, the &W saves those settings.
