1-20-943 Using AT&F

All initialization strings should start with AT&F... to 'clear' the

modem before you start. This removes anything another software may have

done. On very rare occasions during the log-off process, something can get

set in the modem The AT&F will clear this too. Never use ATZ unless there

is no other choice as that only resets to saved profile, not factory

settings. The usual PC string would be AT&F&C1&D2

If the modem gets 'stuck' from conflicting inits, an AT&F&W (Clear and

Save) should set things right again. If you get a response +Fxxx that is a

FAX response, not DATA. To reset to DATA after using a FAX software like

Winfax, AT&F+FCLASS=0 (add &W to save).

While you can save the string .. AT&F&C1&D2&W , it is better to

put the string in your software. If the place to put the string is not

obvious, call the Mfr of the software for help.
