3-27-94 Cannot Fax

The software has to match the fax-class of the modem you are using.
The AFC/AFX/Pkt-2400 are Class-1 fax. The '9624' modems are Class-2 fax.
Does the driver match your modem? TSRs and device drivers can affect faxing
too.

Is this the only fax machine you cannot send/rec'v fax? As hard as
the developers of the code try, there will always be a fax you can't send
to or maybe recv a fax from. There are too many variables to promise you
can connect everywhere. Hundreds of makes and models of fax machines,
hundreds of makes and models of faxmodems, ROMS, and of course dozens of
software packages with their different versions too. In a perfect world all
would be compatible. But it's not, so it's just impossible to make every
one perfectly compatible (even between fax machines). You can try setting
a different speed in your fax setup. The normal send speed is 9600, try
4800 or 7200. (FAX driver may have to be unloaded & re-loaded).

     * * At least 1 fax machine (Panasonic) needs to have the 'frequency'
changed on the FAX machine to receive from a Faxmodem. A Brother also
needed an adjustment to rec'v fax from a faxmodem. Other brands may need
this change too.

If this doesn;t help, the modem may be broken. If new, dealers will
usually exchange it. For repair call 617-423-1072 Customer Service.
