                        USE of &Q6, &Q0

(this applies to Zoom RPI - High speed modems)
(NOTE: normally this only applies to the Calling modem. A 2400
modem calling into a high-speed will usually connect OK)

The default setting for Zoom RPI High speed modems is &Q6 which
enables speed buffering, which needs RTS/CTS flow control. When you want
buffering OFF, use the &Q0 command, then if you wish you can use XON/XOFF
(&K4) flow or RTS/CTS flow. Either typed directly AT&Q0, or in the Dial
Prefix AT&Q0DT. To turn it back ON, AT&Q6 or AT&Q6DT will do it. If you
do use this I recommend you set speed with the Fx command to specify modem
speed.

The best place to do this is in the dial prefix, or directly typed in
terminal mode. The INIT string is not a good place, unless you want ALL
calls set that way. If you change flow control, also check the setting in
the software as well as the &Kx command.

All protocols (MNP and V42(bis)) are done via the RPI interface with
appropriate software.
