Sysops,

   1) Every month, usually around the first, the new version of the
CatNET(sm) info file will be attached to a message in the "Net Admin"
conference. If your BBS software can not receive attachments you can
download the file from the mail hub.

The filename will follow the "CNTmmyy.ZIP" naming convention. So the
filename for May 1994 would be "CNT0594.ZIP".

   2) Speaking of attachments the only conferences on the mail hub that
      accept attachments are:

Net Admin - network conference (echoed)
Alpha/Beta - for authorized personal only (echoed)
Private Mail - the mail hubs' local conference (not echoed)
          User-User - network conference (echoed)

   3) If you choose to enable attachments on your side remember to enable
this function on the mail hub side also. You can do this from within
Tomcat by selecting the "[C]onfigure your settings" option from the
mail menu, then selecting the "[A]ttachment size limit" option.

                                   - OR -

You can drop me a message and I'll enable the function for you on the
      mail hub side.

   4) All CatNET(sm) conferences are also capable of sending "return
receipts" for messages. The "return receipt" will be sent to you as a
*private* message, even if that conference does *not* allow private
      mail.

Since the request for a "return receipt" is inserted in the message
itself there are no software switches you have to worry about setting
      on your side.

Requesting a "return receipt" in any CatNET(sm) conference can be done
      two ways:

        a) If your BBS is running Wildcat! software and using the Tomcat
mail door, all a user has to do is request the "return receipt"
option in his mail reader, if it supports this option.

        b) If your mail reader doesn't support the "return receipt" option
you can place the letters "RRR" in the subject line before the
           subject text.

           Example, using "Deluxe"...

         Ŀ

ENTER OR REPLY TO A MESSAGE

             Save in conference: (22) CatNETComm
                             To: JOE BLOW
                           From: RON KULICK
                        Subject: RRRTest
                 Personal (Y/N): N
                Sender Password:

Is this correct (Yes or No)? Y

   5) Wildcat! also has the ability to take you directly to the mail door
(Tomcat) main menu, by-passing all the opening screens. This option
will make it easier to write scripts to get your mail.

When logging in you can place an exclamation point "!" before your
      login name.

What is your first name? !first last password

Using an asterisk "*" in place of the exclamation point will get you
to the BBSs main menu, by-passing all the opening screens.

   4) Just a reminder about conference access. Please restrict access to the
"Net Admin" & "Netline" conferences to Sysops and Co-Sysops, since
      these are administrative conferences.
