*** Quick Upgrade Instructions For Existing Users ***

Please follow these steps for a quick upgrade:

1) Use WinZip to extract the files in WINZIP5B.ZIP to a temporary
directory. Do not overlay the files in the directory from
which you are running WinZip. Hint: to automatically create a
directory just type the directory name in the "Extract"
   dialog box, for example, "C:\WZTEMP".

2) Close *all* WinZip windows (this step is important!)

3) Use the File Manager to copy the extracted files to your WinZip
directory. Then run WinZip as you normally do.

See the file WHATSNEW.TXT for a list of changes since WinZip 5.0.

*** Standard Installation ***

Follow this easy one-time installation procedure:

1) Create a directory to hold the WinZip related files. The
recommended directory name (used in the following instructions) is
"C:\WINZIP".

2) Copy all WinZip-related files to this directory. At a minimum
you need the following files: WINZIP.EXE, WZ.DLL, WZ.COM, WZ.PIF,
and WINZIP.HLP.

3) Double click on C:\WINZIP\WINZIP.EXE in the File Manager.

That's all there is installing WinZip. When WinZip is activated
for the first time, a few one-time only dialog boxes are
displayed.

Remember that while WinZip is active, online help is always
available by pressing the F1 key.
