Looks like I'm new here so here goes my first post. I just got back from
the Dave Mathews show in Phili. They played after a set by big head todd,
who jammed but i think they need another musician in the band. Anyways
dave came on and started off with recently, jammed a non album song I
have never heard and then came back to finish off recently. During "what
would you say" John popper came on to jam on the harmonica. It was a
good show, encored with "warehouse" my favorite song, but it was too
short(1 hour 20 minutes). I saw them in D.c a couple months ago play
much longer. Thats what you get with a double bill I guess.

Anyways I have a lot of phish/dead bootlegs that i am willing to trade
for ANY, ANY dave Matthews. I have NONE of dave so far and would love
some. So email me if you have so quality DMB tapes you'd be willing to
trade and I'll hook you up with some jammin phish/dead. I just got a 1970
dead harpers college rarity accoustic concert. I also have a great
Phish/santana tape.

Email me: Rude@gwis2.circ.gwu.edu

Hello
I'd just like to get in a quick note to everyone that I love Phish net
and I love reading about the dlcd, the name, recent shows and all the
great things that make our phish net great. Too bad for me that in the
past 2 weeks there's been at least 25 posts about Pulp Fiction. I
enjoyed the film, and it's worth talking about but is this really the
place to do it? I thought this was about Phish. Unfortunately, the
discussions will probably persist and I'll just have to deal. Sucks 4 me.
Sorry for the waste of bandwidth

Phellow Netters-

Hello everyone - I have something VERY important to say. As
Phisheads who trade tapes, we have a _HUGE_ responsibility to the band PHISH.
That responsibility is to pass on as many HIGH QUALITY tapes as possible. ANd
when we trade, if someone is interested in trading for a tape(s) that is of
POOR QUALITY, it is that person's RESPONSIBILITY to indicate that the tapes
sound like SHIT!!!!!

If you couldn't tell already, I just got tapes from a trade that
sound like absolute CRAP!!!!! Now I would really like to tell the whole
Phish.Net who this trader is, but I don't feel that is necessary. I have
already emailed this guy from AOL (Oops!) and told him how I felt. Hopefully,
next time someone asks him for a copy of the tape that he sent me, he will tell
them that they sound like CRAP.

Basically, ALWAYS follow these guidelines -

1) ONLY USE AVERAGE OR ABOVE AVERAGE RECORDING EQUIPMENT!

2) TELL PEOPLE IF YOUR TAPES SOUND LIKE SHIT!

3) TRY NOT TO PASS ON TAPES THAT SOUND LIKE SHIT!

4) __ALWAYS__ INDICATE SOURCE AND GENERATION, BOTH ON TAPELISTS AND
  ESPECIALLY ON A TRADE!!

I guess that's it. I really wonder about this place sometimes...

|You know Keith; I'm sort of pissed off at the fact that they now have a
|video. It will end up like Pearl Jam, that everyone likes, even if they
|don't listen to the music. Now everyone will like DMB even if they don't
|listen to it. This sucks. I like them after going to a concert at
|University of New Hampshire.

This MTV argument is getting real boring. If you think that MTV is the
reason that bands get big, you're sadly mistaken. Sure, it helps, but
how do you think all those bands BEFORE MTV got big?? Should we have
gotten pissed because bands were on the radio!?! Phish has played MSG
and Boston Garden because of one thing: Hard Work!  The music isn't yours;
The music is EVERYBODY'S!!

Hey Y'all, I thought that this Brad Kraft thing was settled...check the
digestifier from a couple ones ago. Someone (I forget who) called Brad
and found that his family or him had just sufferes a pretty big loss.
While it sucks not getting your tapes, IMHO I would choose that over a
personal loss every time. Brad is trying to get his tapes out it said in
the post, he no longer has e-mail so write him or call him and tell him
what show, dolby preference, what kind o' tapes, and how to handle
maxpoints. Unfortunately, I don't have his address but it is in one of
the last digestifiers. Please, as a community united through Phish let's
be thoughtful and kind to a person who's had some bad breaks. Let's not
forget why we're in this, for the love of tunes that make us smile. Let's
not get too intense...
                              jah love,
                                   jeff

P.S. if you're the guy who posted his address, please do it again so
those who missed it can see it.

Which is why the IDEAL place for _this_ year's NYE show is in St
Louis!! This way EVERYONE is happy! East AND west coasters will
have to travel the same distance. No one will be forced to trek
across the entire nation to see phish play new years!!

You know, I really wish I knew HOW you said this, Justin. No ;^)
implies that you are being serious, and if you are seriously
asking me whether or not I think Trey is wrong, I would like to
say, for the record, FUCK YOU ASSHOLE. If, on the other hand,
you were merely jesting, and having a little fun, and innocently
forgot the ;^), then, Justin, to that I say: 'Yeah. I think
Trey is full of shit. If I say that its Dave's Energy Guide, it
is Dave's fucking Energy Guide.'

;^)

A couple things.

1) I have not heard 4/29/87 Dave's, but there is no question that
Dave's Energy Guide from 8/6/88 sounds SIMILAR to that Intro
"JAM" before the Bowie at Providence.

2) I don't like this intro especially, anyway, so let me start
another topic that has arisen before but which I will
deliberately beat to death because doing so even MIGHT piss off
Justin ;^): teases of other tunes in the 12/29 Bowie. I haven't
heard it recently, but if I recall correctly, I remember hearing
McGrupp's and Hood for sure. I think that there are many others,
though, right? Where there is Hood, there is basically Slave
(for all intents and purposes).. there are other teases. What
are they?

Oh yeah, and to the guy who didn't like that Bowie: what is your
ideal concert, and I ask this genuinely? I take it that you
disliked MSG's Tweezer as well, the Weekapaug at Phili on 12/28,
the Bangor Tweezer (damn, this would really piss you off if you
didn't like that Bowie!).. anyway, I would really be interested
in what your dream show would be. I don't usually like "spacey"
portions of Phish jams, either (I assume that that spacey lassie
"jam" part of the bowie is what pissed you off) but I would
rather have such "jams" than Bouncin, Rift, Horse, or Silent any
day.

two cents

This should maybe go in private email but I'm REALLY REALLY
REALLY curious about this. Icahbod is a local band from LA which I
believe has since broken up.....I know the bassist (who's rather an
amazing musician) They are a REALLY REALLY good band....anyway, my
question is WHERE did you get this tape from......I think I've
probalby met about 80% of the people who know Ichabod...and I REALLY
(gee, I seem to be using that word a lot) would like to know how
widespread this as philler is.

What you probably have is from Are You Ready To Fly?; a
basement tape of them done on either 8 or 16 tracks and released to
anyone who's heard of them and wants to buy a tape.

Wow......Icahbod on a Phish tape. COOL.
