It is an 8x11 sheet printed on both sides and folded to give you 2-5x8 pages on each side of the paper. You can ad as many pages as you like to make whatever size brochure you need. This size fits neatly into a 6x9" manilla envelope (or chartreuse if you want) and when addressed HORIZONTALLY (Post Office said WHY ASK WHY) can be mailed with a .29 stamp. This is a convenient size because it is your basic standard, the printers can give you a good price (hi quality copiers provide a pretty decent quality now days also), the post office likewise and most of the dimensions just lend themselves to easy production and material use. This is the key when you have to keep your prices down and production schedule efficient. You can't spend a great deal of time when you are attempting to generate income with basic production values needed to keep your costs at a minimum. Meat and potatoes (help me here Dan) production work to keep the cash flow monster at bay...types of jobs that keep you going until you find those customers that will PAY you to CREATE printed materials of higher quality. Why do you think GM makes Chevettes when they would rather make everything like a Vette! GF5B .CDK PAGES 1,2,7,8 OF GENERAL FLYER Outer pages of brochure. This is material you will keep for awhile. Basically general information that isn't going to change much. Thus you could buy some nice paper and have it printed in larger quantities. BASICINS.CDK PAGES 3,4,5,6 OF GENERAL FLYER Inside pages of Brochure with specific information such as prices and dates if needed. This can be reprinted on a quality copy machine in a short run (low number of copies) so that you don't have to print a thousand of something you might only need 100 of. ///////////////////Comments////////////////////////////////////////// The design and production (printing and layout) of your personal printed materials can be simple or complex. You can base your own printed materials on the kind of clientele you are looking for. (we're all looking for sugar daddys/mommas aren't we - nod your head) Try to remember that the majority of your clients would like to have a glossy hi-quality advertising piece or in-house newsletter, but that the bottom line is the cost. They will pay for the quality that matches the importance of their needs. Some will need Hi-quality others will just want that facts maamm... Design your prices and packages around the type of client you are looking for and you just might make it. I'm sure going to try! These are just my thoughts and ideas, hopefully someone will add to what I have here and teach me something that I can use. and in the end we'll help save the ozone or something...Good Luck!
