ALFRED_M v1 (ALFRED_E.DIC's only living offspring) This is the same dictionary as is in the ALFRED_E.ZIP file, but this one is formatted for use with MULTLANG.ACC, the German-English word-translation accessory. (ALFRED_E is for use with the GER2ENxx.PRG document translation programs) Alternate meanings are separated by commas. "etc." shown at the end of multiple meanings indicated that the word has other meanings that are signifigantly different than those show - in other words, you may need to use a dictionary if none of the displayed meanings seem to make sense in your current context. MULTLANG.ACC searches for text strings, so if you input a word near the end of the dictionary, "zwischen" for example, MULTLANG will show you each and every word that contains the string "zwischen". To get around this, I've placed a space before each German word in the dictionary. Input a space before you type in your German word, and the dictionary will display only those words which begin with the chosen word. I'm sure there will be updated versions of this dictionary in the future, so I've placed a "version" number at the end of the dictionary. If you need to see the version number and don't want to fool with booting a text editor and loading the dictionary in, use MULTLANG to search for "ZZZZZZZ" - the version number will appear. Have fun, Mike Valent (GEnie address: A.VALENT). May 4, 1993
