UNISHELL VERSION 1.02 A UNIVERSAL ARCHIVE SHELL PROGRAM WRITTEN BY RICK MCBRIDE FINALLY - an archive shell designed specifically for LHARC-ST version 0.51 but which also allows the use of ARC.TTP or any other archiving program (such as ZOO, ZIP, etc.) at the click of the mouse button. I designed this program because my favorite archive program (LHARC-ST by DeltaVision Systems) cannot be used properly with any ARC shell or LZH shell program. But, when downloading from GENIE or other BBS services, files are not always arced using LHARC. This meant that if I downloaded several files and some of them were ARC'ed and some were LZH'ed, I had to either use more than 1 shell program for ease in unARCing or unLZHing or I had to load an ARC program, unARC those files that were ARC'ed, then load UNLZH or LHARC to unLZH the programs that were LZH'ed. NO MORE!!! UNISHELL version 1.02 allows me to unARC and unLZH in any order I wish - without having to load up anything more than UNISHELL.PRG. UNISHELL.PRG can be run on any Atari ST computer with a minimum of 512K RAM, and can be run on either a color monitor (medium resolution only) or on a monochrome monitor. HOW TO USE UNISHELL VERSION 1.02 Make sure your ARC, LZH, or LHARC programs have the extender of .TTP. Also, make sure UNISHELL.PRG and UNISHELL.RSC are in the same folder or directory (they don't have to be in the same folder, but it makes things easier if they are). You don't have to have the archive programs in the same folder as UNISHELL.PRG, but, for ease of operation they should be placed in the same folder. Double left-click on UNISHELL.PRG to run. If UNISHELL.RSC is present in the same folder, UNISHELL will run with no further prompts. If not, a fileselect box will appear asking you to find UNISHELL.RSC (or UNISHELL.RSM for monochrome monitors). A menu box appears with three buttons: LHARC, ARC and OTHER. Left-click on the correct button for the application you wish to use (note - the OTHER button acts the same as and uses the same commands as ARC). If you have placed the archive application in the same folder as UNISHELL.PRG, it will load with no prompts. If the archive application is in another folder, just locate it by using the fileselect box that appears. Once the application is found you are presented with another menu box which has the various commands and switches used by the archive program. Read the documentation for the selected application to use the shell commands. UNISHELL.PRG, UNISHELL.RSC, UNISHELL.RSM and UNISHELL.TXT are shareware and may be distributed to anyone who wants it as long as all files are present and untampered. If you find use for this program, please send $5.00 to: Rick McBride P.O. Box 280284 Lakewood, Colo. 80228 In return you will become a registered owner of UNISHELL and will be entitled to any and all future updates. So, to ensure that the shareware concept works and that I continue to contribute shareware programs - send $$$! Also, any comments or criticisms - constructive or otherwise - are appreciated and can be sent to the above address or to R.MCBRIDE8 on GEnie (don't expect a reply if you're not a registered user of UNISHELL).
