SwapDemo is a free demo of the commercial program HotSwap.  SwapDemo may
be distributed freely as long as this text file is included, but may not
be sold commercially or included with a commercial product without
written permission from John Eidsvoog.

 o Included in this version is Image-to-Icon, a free program by Chet
   Walters that converts image files to Degas icon files.  This allows
   you to use Dr. Bob's MultiViewer Graphica (MVG) to create images for
   HotSwap (or SwapDemo) to replace the HotSaver images used for
   animation.  Also included are two more sample icons, WizWorks and Dr. 
   Bob.  Thanks Chet and Dr. Bob.

 o If you want to create your own icons for testing, the sizes are:
     HotWire logo:  142x48
     Kilroy logo:    47x24
   The HotWire logo must have a blank border of three pixels around its
   edge so that it "wipes" itself as it moves.  The full HotSwap package
   contains a template to help you design your own icons.

HotSwap lets you replace the HotSaver images with your own.  You'll need
Degas Elite to create your own images.  See below for information on
ordering the complete version of HotSwap. 

SwapDemo let's you see how easy it is to replace your HotSaver icons. 
It lets you load icons and "test" them to see how they'll look within
HotSaver.  It runs in medium or high resolution.

To test alternate icons with SwapDemo, you'll need to have HotSaver
installed, with animation enabled.  See the HotSaver documentation if
you don't know how to install it. 

There are two different icons in HotSaver.  Image 1 is the bouncing
HotWire logo and Image 2 is "Kilroy".  To load an icon into SwapDemo,
select the menu items for Load Image 1 or 2.  The names of the sample
icons supplied with SwapDemo begin with "1" or "2" to show which type
they are.  When you load the images they will be shown in the window. 

Once you've loaded at least one of the images into SwapDemo, you can
select "Test" (or hit T) to see the effect in HotSaver.  The Test option
sets HotSaver's "Kilroy" rate at 90% so that you won't have to wait very
long to see how the second image looks.  The time and date will be
disabled so they do not interfere with the image.  You can see how the
time and date will look in the icon by selecting "Clock" (or hitting C). 
Then the time and date will be shown, depending on their current
settings in HotSaver. 

There are a number of sample icons included in this demo.  Replacements
for Image 1 include:  Starship Enterprise, Batman logo, a trumpet, and
digitized eyes (mine :^).  There's also a side view of a head
(1GUESS.ICN) that is designed to allow a time display within it. 
Replacements for Image 2 include:  various cartoon eyes, musical notes,
"I Love CodeHead Software", and a Jolly Roger.  Some of the icons are
designed to be paired together such as "Guess What"/"I Love CodeHead
Software", and trumpet/musical notes. 

The complete HotSwap program will allow you to save the images
permanently into a copy of HotSaver.  It also includes templates to be
used in Degas Elite to help create your icons.  HotSwap is available for
