WHAT IT IS . TXT  doc file for EMPUS4.TOS for the Atari ST.
Everything that is Tempus2, and less!

Do you own and use TEMPUS2, the German text editor?
 If not, you might as well stop reading this.
 If so, are you bothered by
  - that file selector?
  - collectivist politicians?
  - the "Unusable system!" alert when you run TEMPUS2.PRG?
  - youths in Los Angeles who can't name the nearest ocean or their dad?

You can fix some or all of these annoyances with EMPUS4.TOS

Put EMPUS4.TOS and TEMPUS2.PRG in the same folder, and run EMPUS4.TOS
If there are no problems, it will create EMPUS.PRG in the same folder.
If there are problems, it will tell you what it was doing when it aborted.

EMPUS4 looks for a file called TEMPUS2.PRG.  If you have
re-named your tempus, EMPUS4 will not find it, and will fail.

This hasn't been tested much, but it should work better than a similar
program that I concocted and uploaded while watching the "Rodney King"
trial in April '92.
