The DeskJet is very good at printing&a+120V &k120H &k12Henvelopes and this accessory makes it easy to do.&a+120V&a+120V &k120H (s3B&d2D&k12HHow do I use it?(s0B &d@&a+120V&a+120V &k126H &k54H &k12HDJEPA is a standard Desk Accessory which uses standard GEM&a+120V &k120H &k12Hdialogues. If you're familiar with this, install ENVPRINT.ACC,&a+120V &k120H &k12Hread from item 4 down and go play. Because DJEPA&a+120V &k126H &k114H &k12His an accessory, it can pop up while running any GEM&a+120V &k126H &k114H &k12Hprogram that uses the menu bar.&a+120V &k126H &k114H &k12Ha.&k36H &k12HFill out the lines for Return address and Send&a+120V &k126H &k48H &k12Haddress. Use the ESC key to clear any line. The&a+120V &k126H &k48H &k12HTab, up and down arrow keys may be used to jump&a+120V &k126H &k48H &k12Hfrom one line to the next. Right and left arrow&a+120V &k126H &k48H &k12Hkeys move the cursor right and left on the current&a+120V &k126H &k48H &k12Hline. I used Laser C, v2.1, on a 1040ST&a+120V &k120H &k12Hwith TOS 1.4 installed. DJEPA has been tested on TOS 1.4 and&a+120V &k120H &k12H1.0, but not 1.2. There shouldn't be any problems with TOS 1.2,&a+120V &k120H &k12Hbut the best laid plans of mice and men...&a+120V &k126H &k54H &k12HI have a DeskJet PLUS and a friend of mine has an early&a+120V &k120H &k12HDeskJet that we used for testing. I don't have access to a&a+120V &k120H &k12HDeskJet 500 for testing so I don't know how well DJEPA will work&a+120V &k120H &k12Hwith it. There shouldn't be any problem. Could someone let me&a+120V &k120H &k12Hknow about this?&a+120V&k126H&k6H&k12HSo far the only real problem I found is when an envelope&a+120V &k120H &k12Hdoesn't get loaded properly and the rollers can't pick it up. &a+120V &k120H &k12HWhen this happens, the DeskJet gets mad, blinks at you and won't&a+120V &k120H &k12Hdo a thing until you reset it. Sorry, I haven't been able to&a+120V &k120H &k12Hfigure out how to get the ST to find out if the DeskJet is mad.&a+120V &k126H &k54H &k12HLots of people don't want to use their DeskJet's for&a+120V &k120H &k12Hprinting envelopes because the ink is water soluble. Few people&a+120V &k120H &k12Hrealize just how many inks are water soluble, so I don't see it&a+120V &k120H &k12Has a real problem. However, HP has a solution. Reportedly, the&a+120V &k120H &k12Hnew ink cartridges for the DeskJet 500 use water resistant ink&a+120V &k120H &k12Hand may be used in all DeskJets. The other possible solution is&a+120V &k120H &k12Hto spray clear matting over the print.&a+120V &k126H &k54H &k12HOn a fair number of ST's, DeskJet's will not respond if they&a+120V &k120H &k12Hare turned on after the ST. The solution is to place a diode in&a+120V &k120H &k12Hthe printer cable. There are how-to's on GEnie.
