Why did I write these programs?

Well, yesterday I bought a ProCache 16MHz accelerator board for 
my STe and the supplied software didn't really perform the 
function that I required.  The standard software allows you to 
switch between 8/16MHz by using a hotkey or via an accessory.  
What I wanted was to switch on my ST and have it running at 
16MHz without pressing any hotkeys or wasting an accessory slot, 
so here is the results.

I've supplied two programs, 16MHZ.PRG and 8MHZ.PRG, which 
switch between the two CPU speeds.  To boot your ST in 16MHz 
simply place the 16MHZ.PRG program in the AUTO folder of your 
boot disk and then reset your machine.  If you should need to 
switch down to 8MHz, run the 8MHZ.PRG program from desktop.

NOTE: This software may also work on other accelerator boards 
if they use the same method to switch speeds - try it.
