KeyClear -------- Version 1.0a ½ Carl J. Hafner FREEWARE !!! PURPOSE ------- Certain programs, at bootup, require keyboard input. Occasionally the keyboard input from one program will "stick" in the keyboard buffer and be passed onto the following program. The result is that the following program (if it looks for keyboard input) will initiate options based on "left-over" information from a previous program. KeyClear attempts to solve this problem. DISCLAIMER ---------- The author cannot be responsible for any damage to your equipment, other hardware or software products, or physical or mental well being caused by the use, misuse, abuse or inability to use this program. The author also makes NO guarantee as to the compatibility of this program with other software or hardware products. By using this program you are stating that you COMPLETELY understand AND agree with these terms AND agree to accept FULL responsibility for ANY and ALL events arising from it's implementation. If you do NOT understand AND agree, DO NOT use this program !!! USAGE ----- Place this program IN FRONT OF any program(s) within your AUTO folder which you believe to be receiving erroneous information. That's it ! A "copyright" notice will appear to let you know it's running. If any information is found within the keyboard buffer, the word "key" will appear below the notice, followed by the value of the information IN the buffer. This display will persist until the buffer is clear (which shouldn't take very long) OR until a SHIFT KEY ( either [CONTROL], [SHIFT], [ALTERNATE] or [CAPS LOCK] ) is pressed. FYI: Shift keys do NOT return characters BY THEMSELVES and will NOT, therefore, register in the buffer the way keys like [F2] or [CONTROL]+[F9] do. WILL IT WORK FOR YOU ? ---------------------- If the cause of your problems is a left-over character in the buffer, it should. If it doesn't, it's possible that the program preceeding the problem program is changing some other value in memory. Try re-ordering your AUTO folder to see if that helps.
