Hello, I had originally intended to market Dataken commercially. I did sell a few copies but generally there has not been sufficient interest in the ST community to justify further development or marketing of the program. One reason for this may be a lack of technical users, another is perhaps the fact that, from a marketing perspective, Dataken does not fit functionally into any typical commercial categories. I waited over a year since the last sale before releasing it as shareware both to see if a market would develop and to give those commercial customers who purchased it a lead time so they don't get upset with me. I hope that Dataken's lack of success as a commercial product does not reflect poor technical quality. While there is lots I would improve if Dataken given higher sales return, I find it very solid and easy to use as is. Also, I find lots of uses for Dataken, so I believe that it IS a generally useful program. Since it is a unique program, perhaps users have trouble seeing how they could actually be using it. I often wonder if the first Visicalc had the same marketing problem. If you start to use Dataken, you will find that you will soon to discover many more uses for it. Occasionally it may save you incredible amounts of time by allowing you to solve problems which no other program would help you with as easily. I hope that Dataken turns out to be a program which is worth it's bytes in gold to you. I would appreciate a shareware donation if you like it. It is easy, just drop a check in an envelope with the word "Dataken" on the memo line. You don't need to fill out a form or write a note (although I would love to year from you). It is easier then paying your monthly utility bills. Send to: Tyson Gill GT Software 12114 Kirton Avenue Cleveland, Ohio 44135-3612 Thanks and enjoy, Tyson
