When I installed the HP Laserjet printer driver (which is the same as the Epson 9-pin driver, according to the header line in the Assign.sys file), the drive path for the print files was not correctly updated: although I installed on Drive F, the assign.sys file stated Drive D for the print file path. The result is that when you try to run the FONTWID.APP program after installing Timeworks DTP, you get an error message stating that GDOS can't find the printer files. The solution is to use a word processor in ascii file mode and import the assign.sys file. Update the line which reads path = d:\publish\gemsys to read path = f:\publish\gemsys. Reboot the system and FONTWID.APP and the publish application run fine. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 2 Fri Jun 28, 1991 CBARRON at 03:28 EDT I do not know what your problem is but I used timeworks install only to get the HP driver (150 and 300 dpi) and the related fonts and assign, sys file. The name copied via install is always the same on the target disk for all printers, It copies the correct print *.sys file to 21 printer.sys or what ever they call it, regardless of what it was originally. I bought TIMEWORKS DTP FOR $10 at an auction solely for the gdos driver. I use pgs myself, for dtp. The gdos driver for vip, beckercad(not to well),touchup it works well except for beckercad output. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 3 Fri Jun 28, 1991 GSCOTT-MOORE [Gerry] at 22:12 EDT \\\--- K.Lepper: I don't understand what your problem was either. I too installed DTP on my harddrive. In fact I installed it to drive F! I did it three times in total. First at 300 dpi followed by print tests, then at 150 dpi, more print tests, and finally back to 300 dpi. I piddled around with the assign.sys file each time, since I was trying to figure out some stuff that was unrelated to installation. I never had a problem with the drive location. I did notice that the third line reads "02p acreen.sys" instead of "screen.sys" and it did this (incorrectly) each time. It doesn't seem to affect my system. By the way, for those who attempted to give me help with my bullets refusing to show up with an HPLJII, it turned out to be an installation problem. We had communally decided it was memory or some such. Not so. Don't know how it happened but the file names for bullets are named differently than all the other font filenames. They have two less characters than others. This is as it should be. But mine were mislabeled in the assign.sys file. I installed three times this weekend and once it mis- identified the font files for bullets. So I don't think it was me meddling at some previous date. Strange. \\\--- Gerry ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 4 Sun Jun 30, 1991 K.LEPPER at 08:33 EDT Gerry, CBARRON, and to all.....I found the install problem. I forgot I was using Superboot to install the assign.sys file upon boot-up. So.. TIMEWORKS correctly built the correct assign.sys file, and Superboot dutifully overwrote it whenver I rebooted the machine in order to run the FONTWID.APP program. The solution, of course, is to disable the Superboot assign.sys file or delete it from the AUTO folder. (sigh). For the record, I've been using the 9-pin Epson printer driver assign.sys file with the HP Deskjet 500 for the last month, without realizing it. The only other problem I've had is, I suspect with memory: the 300 DPI Laserjet II driver is very slow printing on my system with 2.5 meg. I get one line every 5 seconds or so. Thanks for trying to help....Ken ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 5 Sun Jun 30, 1991 D.A.BRUMLEVE [kidprgs] at 11:14 EDT Ken, Timeworks is just plain slower the greater the resolution you require. With the Laserjet II driver you are getting 300dpi, and that really will take near onto 15 minutes a page. If you use the older Laserjet driver, you'll get quicker printouts, coarser resolution. Glad you found the problem with the Assign file. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 6 Sun Jun 30, 1991 W.PARKS3 [Dr. Bob] at 17:30 EDT You might try contacting Timeworks, they have drivers specifically for the DeskJet (as opposed to the LaserJet) which are much faster. The DeskJet can accept compressed raster data where the standard LaserJet drivers do not compress at all (although the HP LJ-III handles compression too). The big question is if Timeworks wants to bother with the Atari platform. Bye: Dr. Bob ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 7 Sun Jun 30, 1991 M.MOTOGAWA [MEL] at 23:48 EDT In the July issue of AtariUser, p. 13, there is an interesting little tidbit about a new Publisher ST that is already finished, from GST of the UK. Multiple docs and FSMGDOS support. I think one of the online mags mentioned that a new First Word Plus is in the works too. This all sounds great! I'm sure they will make their way over here one way or another. There are a lot of companies importing these days. - Mel ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 8 Wed Jul 03, 1991 K.LEPPER at 05:07 EDT Yeah....I've heard of the "new" Publisher ST, but don't know of anyone who's seen it yet. Maybe we should write GST directly. Does anyone else in the US, besides Timeworks, distribute GST products? Dr. Bob....I called Timeworks and they said they did not have any Deskjet drivers for the Atari version of Publisher. Do you have them? Can you upload them to GEnie? ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 9 Wed Jul 03, 1991 W.PARKS3 [Dr. Bob] at 15:50 EDT No, KL. Sorry. I've used Timeworks's Publishit! on the PC and they don't include a DJ driver either with the package. You have to order it separate. I thought since their ST package was so similar that they'd also offer one for the ST; guess not, eh. I can say that I've always hesitated buying anything with the Timeworks name on it for reasons just like this- they seem to be more of a marketing company than a computer software house. (this is just _MY_ impression. I know of others who use their stuff all the time without complaint- well, without a whole lot of complaints anyway;) Is their DesktopPublisher still being sold? I'd be interested in maybe porting my drivers over... if it were possible. (we've got the fastest DJ driver around, except for maybe the DJ driver in Pagestream. I don't know if this speed could be ported as well as the code though) Bye: Dr. Bob ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 10 Wed Jul 03, 1991 ST-INFORMER at 22:50 EDT Dr. Bob, KeyPublisher, which appears to be a repackaged copy of the IBM version of PublishIt!, includes a DeskJet driver. Miss Piggy squeals! Haven't printed more than a couple of things from MVG yet, but so far it seems to me that the Calamus DJ driver might have you beat. Question: For the first time since you shipped me TT Print or Save, I tried tonight to save a Moniterm screen. Screen printing works wonderfully well, but the saves I made look like the screen appearance when I have my overscan swich on without having run the overscan software. The saves, loaded into MVG after being converted to IMG appeared as just a blurred mess. Every time I tried to load one in its .WWW state into your .WWW viewer, it would bomb the computer. Same results with no auto prgs or accs as with the ones I usually run. Computer is a Mega 4 with a T-16 in it. It seems to me that way back when (before I got UltraScript) that I simply installed the HP LaserJet driver and it worked fine... The DJ is supposed to emulate the LaserJet right out of the box! In fact now I'm sure that it worked just fine... I can see it now: ROCKFACE, DRURY LANE, MADISON, RAVINIA, SWISS, etc.,(plus a bunch of STRANGE DINGBATS) all in 300 dpi on the DJ+. BTW, Dr. Bob: Is your spelling of Publishit (publiSHIT!!!) an editorial comment? Timeworks software (aka GST) may lack certain features, but it has generally worked as promised and (for me at least) has been very reliable and bug-free. Of course I now use PageStream for most work but I still have to fall back to TWDTP/ST when I need to do price lists, menus, etc., that use lots of justified tabs and leader dots. It's a shame that PGS has not addressed this in version 2.1!!! I did miss capitalizing the "I" in "It" however and if that has caused anyone any grief or scorn, I very humbly appologize for my error. I, in no way, intended to discredit Timeworks by slurring their title. Believe me when I say that if I intended to use any sarcasm, I would have definitely not left it with only a missing cap- you'd've known I was "gettin' on their case" ;-) But seriously, I am sorry to have inferred such a remark. It was not my intention to do so. Bye: Dr. Bob ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 16 Sat Jul 06, 1991 D.A.BRUMLEVE [kidprgs] at 19:12 EDT Dr. Bob, I, for one, enjoyed your error. Thanks! ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 17 Sat Jul 06, 1991 K.LEPPER at 23:05 EDT Dr. Bob......The Laserjet driver for Timeworks works fine on the DJ 500. I was just hoping that a specific driver would speed up 300 dpi. As for the availability of Desktop Publisher for the ST, I have seen copies at both Atari dealers here in Houston....Megabyte + and Floppy Wizard, so I would expect you could find them locally as well....Ken ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 18 Sun Jul 07, 1991 W.PARKS3 [Dr. Bob] at 21:07 EDT Thanks Ken. I'll take a look around (not locally though... not for ST stuff anyway;) Yes, the drop in speed from say 150 DPI to 300 DPI is noticable. Yes, the LaserJet driver works just fine with a DeskJet. But a driver written specifically for a DeskJet can blow the doors off the LaserJet driver. There is a very substantial speed increase just by compressing the code sent to the printer. At 300 DPI, you have to send 300 bytes for each raster (not counting the escape sequences). Those same rasters 'could' be compressed to maybe 10 bytes, or heck even 200 bytes would be better (and it _still_ goes faster than the time needed to comp- ress it). That is why I suggested trying to contact timeworks; it's worth it for the speed increase. I'll try obtaining a copy of Timeworks's DTP program and check out the drivers- can't promise when that will be since I've got some debugging going on now thats keeping mebusy. It is a true delight now. One thing I've noticed while printing out a very dense 8 page file though; the first few pages printed fairly rapidly and slower with each successive page. The last couple (5 & 6) took 20 and 30 minutes where the first few had taken 8 minutes to 12 minutes. So I re-booted (or maybe just exited and re-entered the program, I forget which) and printed the last two pages (7 & 8) and then printed quickly again. Sometime in the future I may try to do some test to figure out what's causing the delay. But I'm delighted that I can get a couple of fast pages, anyway. Can anybody help me? I run DTP from an Atari 1040STE w/4 megs and an Atari 604 Laser Printer. I tried printing a couple of the examples that came with the program, but they printed very strangely on documents with more than one page. For example, when I printed the "FYI" or "PUBLISH" documents, the first page printed out fine. But the second page printed out as if it was laying over the first page (you could see bits and pieces of the first page in the background). On the third page, it printed as if the first two were laying underneath that! The pages print out individually with no problem. But shouldn't these pages print out correctly (redundent question)? I have set the print settings to left page, right page and collate. What am I doing wrong? Is it the printer, not the program? PLEASE HELP!! Thank you. That is a bug in TWDTP!!! --> I assume that you are using UltraScript to print to the laser. Here's what you need to do: --> Place a full page empty box 'behind' each page, set to 'opaque' (or whatever it's called in TWDTP... I don't use the program all that much anymore) --> It is easiest to do this in the 'size-to-fit' screen size mode. This should solve your problem... I have now pretty much nailed it down. I am using a program called TOASCII.TTP. I sure hope I didn't rename it alone the line. I might well have. It strips any non-alpha numeric character out of a file. I then load it into WordPerfect. And run a series of macros. The first strips out the trash at the front, then the trash at the back. Then it makes all periods followed by a single space to a period followed by two spaces. I then have three cyclic macros that search for " B ", delete these characters, turn on bold, search for " B ", back up to delete them and bold the inner text. I do the same thing with underlines and italics. I don't use any of the other stuff so that's where I end. It really works swell. The way I usually do these things, since I have NEVER managed to get my HPLJII to work with any but the stock courier fonts with WP is as follows: I write letters in WP, then important them into TWDTP. Evenually I add a P.S., and correct a phrase, or a paragraph, or add clarification. I have kept these DTP files around, sucking up disk space, just because they have the final version in them. So I really am delighted with my conversion routine to get them back into stock WP files. \\\--- Gerry ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 61 Sun Nov 24, 1991 J.SHEAR [John Shear] at 12:31 EST Is there anyway to rotate text in Publisher. But, because it gicves you control over everything, you must control everything. It's a complex program. Pagemaker is easier to use, but isn't able to produce a document that displays the finesse you can get with Calamus. As for Publisher2, I'd seen the ads in the British mags and was curious. The price was low, and, although it doesn't give you all the control that Calamus does, it's easy to use, and does PostScript. "Easy to use" is very important. I do a monthly newsletter and right now it's currently done in Calamus. I'm tempted to do it in Publisher2, since it is very simple. Publisher 2 has an advantage over Calamus (or at least how I use Calamus right now): tagged text files. Using the "Timeworks Publisher markup language" you can tag items with paragraph styles in your word processor. Also, I feel that the manual is better than that with Calamus, as much improved as that manual is. Both programs have their place, and both are welcome additions to my arsenal. Sol: I don't use many fonts when I use Publisher 2. However, they have a whole section on "font identification numbers" in the manual. Unfortunately, all that makes me think is that there should be some supplementary manual for installing extra fonts. These guys obviously know more about GDOS than they're telling here. How to install extra fonts, f'rinstance? Scott H: I upgraded my version with ABC Solutions (who have posted here, BTW.) I owned Calamus for a year while I continued doing my publishing on TWDTP...until one day I got very frustrated with the limitation of fonts and forced myself to learn Calamus. Your comments about the TWDTP manual reflect a common opinion...it was very good and easy to understand. We tried to take the same approach in the new SL manual but, as you pointed out, Calamus gives you control over everythin and so it is a complex program. Your comment about tagged files in TWDTP intrigues me...what is "markup language" and how can you tag files in your wordprocessor? Tagging text is simple. Anything enclosed in angle brackets at the beginning of a paragraph is read as a style tag, thus: This is a headline This is a subheading This is body text. If the paragraph style doesn't exist already in the document into which you're importing, Publisher will assign it that name and create a new style. It will have all the attributes of Body text until you change it, under the "paragraph style" item in the drop-down "Options" menu. I haven't used Ventura for some time, but I think it uses a similar technique. I realize that calling it a "markup language" may seem a bit extreme, but it does have a couple of other functions, all requiring the use of angle brackets. And, as I recall, in the days when I was buying galleys of type, I marked up my copy on disk with similar codes. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 91 Sun Mar 08, 1992 L.ROCHA1 [Lou Rocha] at 14:15 EST Thanks Steve....I do seem to recall this feature. The way I am currently working around this is to type my text in WWII and flowing it in. This gives me single spacing which looks great! Is there some way to enter text directly into TWP (v1) and get single spacing? I can't find it in the manual! Apparently, the drivers supplied with Publisher 2 are standard Atari issue. The SLM804 driver was "fixed" to work with a TT - unfortunately, it was broken for ST's and STe's. Since the population of Atari lasers in the UK is small, GST decided to issue this driver on the premise that an Atari laser was much more likely to be attached to a TT. (note that you do not need to use the TWDTP SLM804 driver ... any SLM804 GDOS driver will be OK). This probably explains the printer problems reported in Current Notes (which all occured on an SLM804). Did you know notice that there is now 2 .WID files! PUBLISH.WID and now the new SCREEN.WID. G+Plus is a great utility, as some of you might know if you have used it on DTP1 and other programs, but now that there are 2 .WID files G+Plus is not as effective. I have a set of .SYS files (ASSIGN.SYS files) and a set of .WID files (PUBLISH.WID) that would allow me to change FONTS very easily. BUT now that Timeworks Publisher 2 has divided the .WID files into PUBLISH.WID and SCREEN.WID G+Plus is not half as effective. I have left a messages to the CodeHeads about this problem asking if they could do something about it. They knew of the problem, and said that it could be fixed and G+Plus could be updated, IF....that is IF there was a demand for a new version. So I ask of you, if you use G+Plus and would like to see a change then write a little message to the CodeHeads (E-mail or in the G+Plus topic). If enough people ask for a change they said that they would do it ASAP (If you have any CodeHead product you know that they have good support). I'll have to check which version I have, but I thought it was the most current one. Anna D.LINDLEY2 [DONI] This may sound weird, but what partition are you installing Publisher 2ST on? I remember having difficulty installing the original version of the program on any other partition except "C:". So, instead of even trying to install the new version anyplace else on my HD, I installed it on "C:" and it works fine (with the exception of having to use the old GDOS in lieu of G+PLUS AND the "Little Green Selector" instead of UIS III.) I haven't tried to add other fonts yet, but I wonder if your problems have anything to do with the SCREEN.WID file that is now needed along with the FONTWD?? ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 135 Mon May 11, 1992 ABC.SOLN at 21:45 EDT re: PI1 pictures not printing from Publisher 2ST I just received a reply to my fax regarding this problem. Regards, Peter Zalesak ABC Solutions ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 136 Mon May 11, 1992 ABC.SOLN at 21:55 EDT Anna, I suggest that you try using CF Johnson's Desk Manager. This allows you quickly switch boot set-ups (also SuperBoot and Gribnif's X-Boot do the same). With this you can re-boot, call up your Publisher set-up (which would install GDOS and the Publisher Assign.sys file), and off you go. When you are finished, simply re-boot and revert to your GPlus set-up or whatever. Tom reported a problem with an earlier version of UIS. I believe his problem disapperaed when he installed 3.3. I have not heard of any "partition sensitivity" with P2, but it won't hurt to try. It is important to have enough free memory however, and there are some conflicts with auto-folder programs such as older UIS and PINHED18. Disabling all acc and auto programs is the first step to try. You should still be able to use G+Plus the same way you did Publisher 1, except that the SCREEN.WID says the same unless you you run FONTWID.APP with a different ASSIGN.SYS file to create to new SCREEN.WID file. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 139 Mon May 18, 1992 D.LINDLEY2 [DONI] at 22:52 EDT Seems my biigest problems so far with TDP2 have been attributed to the ASSIGN.SYS file created by tyhe INSTALL.APP. That was the reason I got 3 bombs every time I ran the FONTWID.APP. NOW I am bombing halfway thru the FONTWID.APP. Can't seem to create the PUBLISH.WID file (0 bytes). Am using an EPSONFX.EPS driver along with the other .EPS and .VGA fonts created. Any suggestions? ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 140 Tue May 19, 1992 HARVEYS [Harv] at 21:16 EDT Scott: You had to have separate assign files with the original DTP because it only allowed the 6 fonts at one time. But the update allows many more fonts and I have added two new fonts to my copy at this time with more to go. The only problem with adding gdos fonts is that you have to change the extender on the screen fonts to .vga and the printer fonts to .b30 for the deskjet and presumably to whatever the existing fonts show on your system for the printer you installed. Also the font ID has to be a legal number. The fonts that come with the program are listed in the manual with the coresponding id numbers. Many older GDOS fonts used these same numbers and will not load into G+Plus. I used Fontz to change the id number and had no problem after that. I also recommend the new version of Bit Maker from MegaType for creating screen fonts in any size and GDOS fonts from PageStream fonts. Harv ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 141 Wed May 20, 1992 TQUINN [TERRY] at 10:09 EDT Harv - actually, I don't think that it really matters what the fonts are called as long as the ASSIGN.SYS file and the *.WID files match what they are called. I just got the new version and my printer fonts have been renamed to have a .FNT extender instead of .b30. I agree about the internal ID numbers though - I had to be careful about that when adding some additional fonts. BTW - have you tried using FPRINT.PRG (available in the ST RT library)? It works miracles when it comes to speeding up the printouts. It's almost tolerable now with my HP Deskjet. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 142 Wed May 20, 1992 S.HOLMES1 [Scott H.] at 20:59 EDT Harv, Yes I did have separate ASSIGN.SYS files (and still do). I have added a couple of fonts to each set though so that I have fewer ASSIGN.SYS files. The reason I would prefer not loading all (or most) of my fonts is to save on memory (I have 2.5 meg). I have tried a great many GDOS fonts with G+Plus with NO problem. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 143 Wed May 20, 1992 A.MASON4 [Anna] at 23:24 EDT Peter, Sorry to take so long to get back to you, besides being busy, I had a 'sick' computer for a couple of days (which a good friend was kind enough to troubleshoot and fix). End of font issue. End of GDOS. :-) ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 149 Sun May 24, 1992 TQUINN [TERRY] at 14:14 EDT GREEN: You can add additional fonts but you must be careful that the fonts internal ID is not taken up one already on your system. First, check out what fonts GST has blessed you with. You will probably need a tool like FONTZ to learn what their internal ID #'s are. Second, if the fonts you wish to add do not have matching internal ID's, copy them into your fonts folder. Change the Assign.sys file to accomodate the new fonts then run Fontwid.app after rebooting. It will generate the appropriate .WID files to make the whole thing work. P.S. - the new publisher is a real resource (both memory and disk space) hog so be sure you have enough memory and disk space to do the job. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 150 Fri May 29, 1992 HARVEYS [Harv] at 18:58 EDT Terry: Yes, I do use the FPRINT program. I have heard from several users who have migrated from TWDTP to Calamus or PageStream, and who wish to go back to the simplicity of Publisher. Thanks! Anna ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 163 Sat Oct 24, 1992 R.KOHORN [Ron] at 00:38 EDT Could someone who is using TWDTP II briefly list the improvements on the up grade? I have I and want to see if there is anything on two I would use. Thanks, Ron ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 164 Sat Oct 24, 1992 TQUINN [Terry~Sysop] at 11:20 EDT Well Ron, I guess that I have been using TWDTP II as long as anyone so I guess I can throw you a few tidbits. First - More fonts and more sizes, especially if you have the memory and disk space for them. Second - all the fonts have a full 256 characters, not the 128 in the old TWDTP. If you use copyright symbols or other such symbols, this is downright handy. Third - You have a really elaborate set of import and EXPORT capabilities so you can import and export text to and from just about every word processor and art program you ever heard of (and a few you haven't). Fourth, you can now "flow" text around an irregular object. Fifth, you have new "autoflow" capabilities when you import text instead of having to do it page by page. There are probably a few others as well but these are the ones I use on a regular basis. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 165 Sun Oct 25, 1992 R.KOHORN [Ron] at 23:20 EST Is there an add on program that can be used with DTP to smooth out the larger letters and make it look more like typeset. Isn't this what Adobe does on the IBM? Thanks, Ron ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 166 Sun Oct 25, 1992 T.MCCOMB [=Tom=] at 23:51 EST Yep. It's called PageStream or Calamus. They both use SCALABLE Font technology. TWDTP uses bit mmap fonts, which when used at any point size other than the one they were created for- show jaggies. PageStream utilizes Adobe Type 1 fonts (as well as others) and Calamus uses their own format scalable font format. Utilites exist to convert these fonts to one another too, Calamus to Pagestream etc. There are also programs to create bitmap (GDOS FOnts) from PageStream or Calamus fonts- BUT each point size requires the creation of a bitmap. These files get BIG, especially if your output device (printer) is high resolution. PageStream and Calamus fonts can create any point size from 1 point up to 1000 points (180,000!! in PageStream) on the fly from one small file. TimeWorks is nice to start with, but do yourself a favor and move up to PageStream or Calamus. -Tom McComb {12:48 am} Monday, October 26, 1992 ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 167 Thu Oct 29, 1992 ABC.SOLN at 19:38 EST Ron, Tom is quite right about the limitations of bit-mapped font technology. They just can't be scaled and look good. However, when you use a well designed bit-mapped font at its natural size, your print will be every bit as good as PageStream or Calamus. What Tom fails to mention is that PageStream or Calamus are not the right programs for everyone. Their learning curves can be intimidating and the investment in time may not be worthwhile for your needs. That is where TWDTP shines...the learning curve is virtually non-existant. If you want to continue with TWDTP, check out C-Font from Compo (about $25). This creates the required GDOS fonts from Calamus fonts, of which there are a great many on GEnie. You supply the point size you need. Regards Peter ABC Solutions ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 168 Thu Oct 29, 1992 ST.LOU [Lou Rocha] at 21:29 EST Ron, I would like to echo Peter's comments. For two years I was able to do all the work I needed with Timeworks DTP. When I finally hit the wall and needed more power, I moved on to Calamus which I now support over in Category 16. However, had TW DTP 2 been available two years ago... the course of history might have been different and I might have been here supporting this fine product. ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 169 Sun Nov 29, 1992 S.HOLMES1 [Scott H.] at 09:46 EST ABC.SOLN, I had read in Current Notes that you had attended the WAACE Atari Fest this year and that you brought along an UPDATE to Publisher II ST. It said that a number of bug fixes had been made. I was wondering what the latest version of Publisher II ST is, and what bugs were fixed? Also I was wondering how to go about getting a BUG FIX UPDATE? I didn't upgrade DTP2 though you....I upgraded it directly from GST. If these fixes are free is it possible to get them right here (via E-mail or patch program)? Thanks! Anna ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 178 Sun Jun 06, 1993 ST.LOU [Lou Rocha] at 21:57 EDT Due to the temporary loss of my Mega 4 and the untimely need to reprint a TWDTP file, I am trying to run this program on my TT. I copied the GDOS.PRG and edited the ASSIGN.SYS file to the right GEMSYS path but when I boot (using DeskManager) I get two bombs right after the screen tells me that Atari GDOS 1.1 Installed. Is there a special TT version of GDOS that I should use? Is anyone else using TWDTP on a TT? ------------ Category 5, Topic 13 Message 179 Mon Jun 07, 1993 TQUINN [Terry~Sysop] at 09:42 EDT Lou - I think you will need to add Screen.sys 04 05 and 06 to the Assign.sys file in order to accomodate the extra screen modes of the TT. While I don't have one (a TT), I distinctly remember reading this from information provided for by the Codeheads regarding their G+Plus GDOS replacement. Actually, I am a bit surprised you are using TWDTP when you are such an expert in Calamus.
