This RAW file was produced by a PD ray tracer called dkbtrace on my unix server. dkbtrace is available for the Amiga, PC, and unix. I didn't create the image, it was included in the sample data files for dkbtrace. I _did_ trace it (and a friend of mine modified the dkbtrace source to produce proper ST QRT RAW files) though. Most of the traces are done in about 15 minutes, though illum1.raw took about an hour! These times would be something like 4+ hours on the ST, probably 8 hours or so for illum1.raw... This sort of tracing requires a great deal of CPU muscle and RAM (it'd take a LONG TIME to do illum1.raw on a PC, due to the idiotic 640k limit). This is Public Domain. If you charge someone for this file, you're ripping off me, you're ripping off whoever you sell it to, you're ripping off the guys who wrote dkbtrace, and you're ripping off the guy who wrote the scene-description. I've found that these look _great_ in PolyChrome using 50Hz, SuperHAM, Hatched or Fractal dithering and Flicker-Free. I couldn't find _anything_ for the PC that would display them decently or convert them into decent GIF files. Go figure. Enjoy!
