SLMMARGN.TXT Background information for Sept. 3, 1992 version of SLM Laser Printer GDOS Driver. The original SLM Laser Printer printer drivers returned a page size to applications equal to the printable area of a laser printed page. This modified driver returns the full paper size to the application, so that margins set in the application will print more correctly. With the old driver, if you set a 1/2" margin in most applications, the printed margin on the SLM605 would be: 1/2" (the requested margin) + 1/4" (the offset created by the driver) which would give a total real-life margin of 3/4". If you set the page justification to "Left" and "Top" in Outprint, Objects on your EasyDraw page will now print exactly where you expect. This is a sample driver only; please do not call Atari for support on this driver. Please leave comments in the GDOS Topic in Category 14 on GEnie. This driver is tuned for the SLM605; it will work with the SLM804, but possibly not as dead-on accurate. To install with FontGDOS or FSMGDOS, simply copy the driver into your GEMSYS folder and select "Atari Laser w/Margn" using the Printer Selector CPX or ACC and click on "Save". This driver has not been tested with G+Plus or GDOS 1.x, it is not intended to work with them. -Bill Rehbock
