CGP220 Screen dump Drean-On-Ware from Rich Weaver The three files included in this ARC file are as follows: 121COLOR.PRG - one-to-one dot ratio CGP220 screen dump gives a perfect circle from DEGAS and reproduces lines and text with well defined lines. The resulting printout does not have the same aspect ratio as the screen. This is the fastest of the three. COLORGRD.PRG - Grid dithering of the colors to simulate the 512 ATARI pallette. The aspect ratio of the printout is close to that of the screen. COLORRND.PRG - Random dithering of colors to simulate the 512 ATART pallette. The aspect ratio of the printout is close to that of the screen. This program does not produce any discernable patterns in color filled areas like the previous ones. The result is more like a photograph. If the paper is accurately reversed to the starting position (a very difficult task) and the screen is printed again, the dots will not necessarily overprint and a better picture will result. This is not a good screen dump for the desktop or text. It is also the slowest of the three because each dot requires a call to the random number generator but for pictures, it cannot be beat. CGP220.TXT - This file as if you didn't already know. Put your favorite in the AUTO folder and reboot. Press Alt-Help to print. These are supposed to work in all resolutions but I don't have a mono monitor so I was not able to test that mode. This is a color dump anyway. Use your Epson compatable for mono if it doesn't work. Did you know that you can get your CGP220 to overprint easily? (BOLD) Simply send ESC 31 - decimal number or 1B 1F HEX to the printer from BASIC or a small program in any language. To stop it, send ESC space or 1B 20 HEX. I have a way to dump the printer codes to a file used in another screen dump and if enough people are interested, I could do it for these also. That way, many copies of the screen could be produced in much less time. Let me know and maybe spread some $$$ my way. This is what I call Dream-On-Ware (I'll keep dreaming about the money, Ha Ha). Use EMAIL - RWEAVER or send anything ($, requests, PD software, ShareWare, etc.) to: Richard Weaver 605 E. Main St. Lansdale, PA 19446 No reasonable offer refused. But can you or I define reasonable? I like 5 but more will not be refused and If you choose 0 as a reasonable offer, may your mind haunt you for the rest of your life. Oh well, I'll Dream on! I also have a color Mandelbrot program for any interested party. Distribute the unmodified ARC file freely and happy color printing.
