TV_TITLE TUTORIAL All of the 7 following files should be kept in the same directory: - TV_DEMO2.PRG The main program - TUTORIAL.TXT This file - DEMO0.TV, DEMO6.TV, DEMO7.TV, DEMO8.TV and DEMO9.TV demo sequences. NOTICE: This demo should be run WITHOUT any accessories loaded. This tutorial is not meant to replace a good reading of the manual that comes with TV_TITLES, but... it could give you ideas about buying the program! The demo version already includes 12 degas files that are used during the demo. You can "play" with these files and one of your own to investigate the program. 1. For this tutorial it is assumed you are working with a copy of TV_TITLES in drive A:. Start the program by double clicking on TV_TITLE.PRG. 2. After the 12 screens are installed, the demo will run automatically. 3. To exit the demo, right click. The main screen will appear. 4. DEGAS images can be loaded in any of the 12 fields on the left side of the screen. You are only allowed a single load on this demo version. If you want to load a degas PI1 or PC1 file, click on the field of your choice to highlite it and click on LOAD. Find your file in the file selector and double click on it. 5. All 12 fields are already loaded with the demo images. Examine image 4 by selecting it and by clicking on VIEW. 6. Image 4 has been set up using all 16 colour registers. The numbers in the circles represent the colour register used to define the circle's colour. The black text outline uses register 15 and the text shadow uses register 14. Right click to return to the main menu. 7. Lets start by animating the text shadow (register 14). Locate the "Reg." number and click on the + until register 14 is selected. As you can see, it's almost black. We will now make it SHIFT to red. Locate the "Program SHIFT" box and click on the leftmost digit so that colour 7 0 0 (red) is selected. Locate the "SHIFT Time" number and click on + to select a time of 5 (5/60 sec. between shifts). To program colour register 14 to shift from its present colour (black) to the SHIFT colour (red) click on the word "Program". 8. Register 14's colour should now continuously be shifting from black to red to black etc. You can look at the result on image 4 by clicking on "VIEW". The colour animation can be turned off by typing "F" or by clicking in the word "Flash" in the main screen. EACH of the colour registers can be animated individually this way! You can have all 16 registers animated if you want, each going through its own individual colour shifts! Try it with colour 12 for example. 9. Colours can also be cycled from register to register over a range of registers. Click on the word "SHIFT" of Program SHIFT to select the CYCLE window. Select the range of registers to be cycled to be FROM "1" TO "8" and select a CYCLE Time of 5. Finally click on the word "Program" to implement the cycling. Once this is done, the colours are continuously cycling from register 1 to register 8... 10. Examine the effect of this cycling on image 4 by clicking on "VIEW". Note the apparent movement of the colours. A good selection of colour registers when making your opening title screen can yield terrific results! 11. Click on one of the word "scroll" and it will change to another effect. There are 8 such effects to choose from for each image. Try the X-RAY setting "On"... Images will be superimposed on each other... The X-RAY effect is quite impressive with a scroll effect: it gives a pseudo-Genlock effect by scrolling titles over a background. 12. All colour settings, color animations and effect settings are part of a single sequence. You have access to 10 such sequences in all to try various effects. These sequences can be saved and loaded with the settings box. 12. Clicking on RUN will play your programmed script. 13. This tutorial is only to give you an idea of what the program can do. Feel free to click on other words on the screen to explore the numerous other features. I would appreciate any constructive comments. If you like the program, tell your friends or show it at a user group meeting. The program can be purchased by mail order or phone orders only. Write or telephone: J.P.
