TURBOSTE.PRG

 I downloaded this program from a local BBS, ACE ST, (414) 496-0724,
Greenbay, WI.  It was written by a local user, Greg Carter.  I left
EMAIL to him for permission to pass it along, but no answer in about a
month.  The original download contained no docs or any indication of a
commercial product, shareware or public domain.  So here it is.

 Since I purchased my MegaSTe, I've noticed some programs will not
function with Atari's new Xcontrol.acc present (mainly Ultrascript). 
But without the control panel present, you can not set the MegaSte into
16mhz,  So Ultrascript will plug along at 8mhz.  Put TURBOSTE.PRG in
your auto folder and it will set your MegaSte into 16mhz/cache on mode
without the need for the Xcontrol.acc.  It probably uses alot less
memory too, I don't know I'm not a programmer!  It could also be use
for boot disk where you don't want to, or can't use the Xcontrol.acc
(games?).

 I've been using TURBOSTE.PRG for about a month without any
problems.  Use it at your own risk.
