The above listed archive contains the latest version of Massimo
Farnina's TT-Artist GEM-based Fractal Screen Saver Program. Version
1.7 is now available for downloading.

                          Special |
                            Notes |
                                  |
                       ___________!

TT-Artist is a GEM screen saver. It does not work in TOS mode (while
a TOS/TTP program is running). This effect is being caused by
TT-Artist's use of the "evnt_multi()" AES functions to check the
machine activity rather than the more problematic VBL routines.

Clicking on the CLOSER button of the dialog window or pressing the
RETURN key causes the same effect as selecting the >INSTALL< button.

Holding down both shift keys during the boot process will prevent
the installation of TT-Artist (not available under MiNT).

The TT-Artist accessory will not load if the TT-Artist cookie has
not been installed by the \AUTO\ARTSEVNT.PRG program.

TT-Artist will not run a selected module if there is not enough free
RAM available or if the current video mode does not support the
   necessary number of colors.

This release does not support the ST-LOW and ST-MEDIUM resolutions.

   Known problems:

    - Under WINX: - redraw problem of the main dialog box if it is
moved in background mode or if it is being moved
outside the left screen border. *Solution*: switch
off the [L1] and [L11] flags in the WINX.INF file.
                    (syntax: TTARTIST = 1- 11- )

    - Under MiNT: - redraw problem of the main dialog box if it is
moved in background mode. TT-Artist uses
                    'wind_update(BEG_UPDATE)' before and
                    'wind_update(END_UPDATE)' after execution of a
module to prevent other applications from writing
information on the screen during TT-Artist
screen activity. This may cause an update (delay)
of all active windows when a TT-Artist module
                    finishes.

                              and |

                                  |
                       ___________!

Copy the ARTSEVNT.PRG program into your \AUTO\ folder and TTARTIST.ACC
into the root (boot) directory of your hard disk. Reboot your TT.

ARTSEVNT.PRG installs a cookie (ARTS) in the cookie jar and checks for
mouse/keyboard events. If no keyboard/mouse event occurs within a
specified amount of time, TT-Artist starts the last selected module. If
you have not yet selected a module or in the event that there is
no TTARTIST.INF file available, TT-Artist starts with these defaults:
TT-ARTIST module, 5 minute delay timer.

The program also checks the CPU usage. If other processes are running,
and keep the CPU busy, TT-Artist will not kick in.

The TTARTIST.INF file can be created by pressing the >Save< icon to
save your choosen module, the delay time and the string from the
'Message' module. The >Install< icon simply installs the module and
does not save any parameters.

Select the >Setup< icon to:

 -turn TT-Artist on or off.

-choose the TT-Artist color palette (ON) or the system palette (OFF).

-some TT-Artist modules use sound effects if the 'Sound' option is
  enabled.

-enable the 'prevent sleep mode' (if the mouse is being moved to the
  lower right screen corner position).
