F_SWITCH will only work with GDOSFSM, FONTGDOS and SPEEDOGDOS earlier versions of GDOS are NOT supported. F_SWITCH allows you to create lists of BIT-Mapped fonts that can be assigned to up to 20 different programs. How It Works From the release of FONTGDOS GDOS has allowed the user to switch lists of fonts/printer drivers contained in the file ASSIGN.SYS in the root directory of the boot drive. To use font switch place a folder named ASSIGN in your AUTO folder. Next place the F_SWITCH.ACC and F_SWITCH.RSC in the ROOT directory of your boot drive. NOTE: F_SWITCH is not recommended for use from INSIDE Multidesk Deluxe. The next step is simply place an ASSIGN.SYS file in the root directory of your boot drive. Place your alternate ASSIGN.SYS files in the ASSIGN folder you placed in the AUTO folder they MUST have an .SYS extender. To create alternate ASSIGN.SYS files use a text processor or a GDOSmanager like DragonWare's G_MAN PRO ($74.95 with 35 Bit-mapped font faces) and place them in the ASSIGN folder. To assign a font list to a program simply click on a program name in the dialog a file selector will appear and request you to select a program. The accessory will then present a file selector to select the font list to assign to the program you just selected. If you wish this program/font list combination to be set up on boot up press the SAVE button and F_SWITCH will save the current list to disk. To delete a program/font list combination click on the program name and then press the Cancel button in the file selector and the combination will be deleted. To bypass the switching function of f_SWITCH simply press the BYPASS button and the accessory will display a file selector for you to select a ASSIGN.SYS file to be installed as default ASSIGN.SYS. To return to normal operation of F_SWITCH simply press the BYPASS button once more and switching will resume as before. About F_SWITCH is selected by clicking on the DragonWare logo in the upper right corner of the main dialog. F_SWITCH creates a file called F_SWITCH.INF which is located in the ASSIGN folder. This file contains the program/font lists that the Accessory uses for list switching. If you find making your own ASSIGN.SYS files hard try DragonWare's G_MAN PRO GDOS manager.
