* BootTyme * Copyright (c) 1992 Don Simpson Want to power up your system with one switch, but you have to start your hard drive and wait for it to come up to speed? Or do you have to wait 90 seconds or hit a key during boot because you have a newer TOS with a built in delay? Well BootTyme may cure these delays for you. Install BootTyme with the instalation program. Select the Poll HD button and click on the 'Install BootTyme' button. BootTyme will write the time-out information on your drive A floppy, at boot-up your system will boot as soon as your hard drive is ready, no preset time delays. BootTyme may not work on all hard drives, some hard drives do not allow polling during spin-up. BootTyme may still be used with these drives as a timer only by selecting the 'Timer' button in the BootTyme installation box. BootTyme has a built in time-out that will turn control over to the system after a preset time delay. This feature is for booting without the hard drive turned on, and for setting the delay when 'Timer' is selected. This delay will count down to zero then turn control over to the system. This delay also clears the 90 second delay on systems with the newer TOS (same as pressing a key). This time-out delay can be set for 1 to 90 seconds, and is configurable by the user. You may save the default values by clicking on the 'Save Defaults' button in the BootTyme Installation box. The default values are saved to the path where the BootTyme Installation Program was launched. BootTyme may be removed from the floppy in drive A by clicking on the 'Remove BootTyme' button in the BootTyme Installation box. Click on the copyright symbol in the BootTyme Installation box for information about BootTyme. WARNINGS! BootTyme writes to the boot sector of the floppy in drive A, this is where some programs that boot from floppy store their installation data, some programs may also store other information in the boot sector. BootTyme will write over this data, for this reason DO NOT INSTALL BootTyme ON A BOOTABLE FLOPPY. Install BootTyme on a freshly formated floppy, then put this floppy in drive A when you turn on your system. The program BootTyme and this text file are Copyright (c) 1992 by Don Simpson.
