October 14, 1991 Roland Juno 1 & 2 Librarian for the Atari ST (c) 1991 by Kevin Houser ------------------------------------------------------------------ Yes, you can now inexpensively save those great patches from your Roland Alpha Juno 1 or 2 on Atari ST disks with my latest and first shareware offering. The JUNO2LIB.PRG will allow you to save and load patches to your Juno and Atari disks. Also, you can rename, swap or copy patches. The librarian is a 'slimmed down' version of a Juno Edittor which I wrote about two years ago and was for in house use only. The librarian WILL WORK with C-Lab's Soft Link (I use it regularly). To use the program, just double click on it, or install it on the desktop as accepting .JNO files. Once in the program you'll see the usual assortment of GEM menus. Load in the supplied *.JNO patch file and you will see all of the Juno's programmable patche's patch names displayed. You can change the patch name by double clicking on it and using the edit requestor which appears. Also, the name can be editted by single clicking on the desired patch and then hitting the ESC key (just like a major C-LAB product |8^} ). Sending data to and from the Juno couldn't be easier. Just plug in the midi cables as shown. ______________ ______________ | ST in|<---------------->| Juno 1 or | | out|<---------------->| Juno 2 | |____________| |____________| Now, to transfer patches to & from the Juno and the Computer, just select the appropriate menu item and follow the Dialog prompts from there. An update 'thermometer' will follow the transfer's progress. Should an error or problem occur, an appropriate Alert box will appear giving you choices on what to do, or giving you information as to what is going on. Checksums are computed to insure that the data has transferred ERROR free. WARNING, do not attempt to send data to the Juno unless you have loaded and saved the Juno's original contents beforehand. All patches in the Juno will be overwritten. YES, I bashed a few of my patches in the early versions of the software and was not to happy about losing my favorite 'KILLER patch to WRITE PLATINUM ALBUMS.' Seriously folx, just load from the Juno and save your patches to disk first. To swap or copy a patch, just click and drag a patch name to another patch name. An Alert box will ask you if you wish to Copy, Exchange, or Cancel. The most recent change made to a patch library can be undone by clicking the Undo menu item or pressing the Undo key. Pressing/Selecting Undo again Redoes the change. For better documentation and an updated version with Patch Editting capabilies, see below: If you find this program useful, or even just like it |8^}, PLEASE register with me for the latest version which implements more funtions (like mixing & matching patches from different patch banks, and patch editting). All I ask is that you send a check or money order for $15 (in US funds) payable to me. This will ensure that I am sufficiently motivated to continue updating this program and start work on numerous other music/midi software projects. This program is copyrighted 1991 by Kevin D. Houser and may be distributed freely, as long as all files in this archive are distributed unmodified and my copyright notice is intact. This program is NOT in the public domain but is shareware. Only you can make the Shareware Concept work. I've done my part. Thanks in advance to all who supported and continue to support my efforts to make the Atari a better place to live. |8*P Please send $15 and any comments, suggestions, or bug reports to: Mobile Ohm Development Attn: Kevin Houser (GEnie: K.HOUSER ) 103 Spring Creek Lane Atlanta, GA 30350 (404) 551-8538 PS: Please include your name and addres and/or GEnie email ID.
