Documentation for ST Gallery Version 1.0, Shareware Written by Jim Burton Copyright 1991 by DreamSeekers Design DreamSeekers Design presents ST Gallery, a great way to distribute your computer artwork. This program turns any DEGAS picture, compressed or uncompressed, into a self-showing program file. The viewer simply runs the program, then from the welcome screen chooses to look at the picture and\or write it as a normal DEGAS file to disk. The welcome screen also shows the picture's title, byline, and four lines of information. To use ST Gallery, run GALLERY.PRG (in medium or high resolution), read the welcome screen, then choose your compressed or uncompressed DEGAS picture (any ST resolution) with the fileselector. After the picture is loaded into memory, a dialog box appears, just type your picture's title, byline, and up to four lines of additional information, such as a copyright notice or address (use the up and down arrow keys to move from one line to the next, the [Return] key ends the dialog. Note also that the text lines will be centered when the picture is shown.) Choosing Done or [Return] converts the picture into the self-showing program, then writes it to the same disk it was loaded from (you are warned if there's not enough room on the disk). The program will have the same filename as the picture, except it will have a .PRG extension. WARNING: don't change the name of the program/picture file! When the program runs, it reloads part of itself into memory. If the name is changed, the program won't be able to find itself, and you'll get an error message. To view the picture, simply run the program and click on Show. Obviously, you can only view color pictures on a color monitor, and monochrome pictures on the mono monitor. However, you can view a medium resolution picture if you're in low resolution, and vice- versa (the program temporarily changes the resolution while the picture's shown). If you have a TT with the multi-synch monitor, you can view the picture no matter what resolution you're in! ST Gallery is copyrighted freeware.
