MATCH MAKER GAME-PLAY ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ To load Match Maker just 'double click' on the program file marked MATCH.PRG and wait for the program to load. Half meg owners are advised to copy this file into an 'Auto' folder which will free an additional 32k of memory. When presented with the title screen press and hold any mouse mouse whenyou are ready to begin. Release the mouse key when the title name stops jumping around and off you go. There are six excruciating levels in which you are faced with the task of matching pairs of symbols that lie hidden behind a grid of squares. The higher the level the more squares in the grid to contend with. To open a square and reveal its contents you just need to move your mouse pointer over the desired square and click a key. Voila! The contents are revealed. Now all you need do is find the square which contains the twin of the symbol you have revealed. If the symbols 'match' your score increases and you move on to find the next matched pair until all of the symbols have been revealed. If you do not find a matched pair then the revealed symbols will be covered again and on you go. To make the game more interesting you also have a limited time in which to uncover all the symbols. If you run out of time before achieving your objective you will lose one of your five lives and the current grid will be reset and you will have to try again. The more difficult the grid the more time you will have to complete it - don't worry if you can't complete a grid in the time allowed, just try again. The time limits have been carefully graded and it IS possible to complete every grid in the time allowed. If you achieve a high score after either completing all the grids or by losing all of your lives then you will have the opportunity to enter your name on the high score table. Just follow the on-screen instructions. Hint.... if your disk is write-protected your score will not be saved to disk and will be lost when you turn off your computer or quit from the game. So, make sure that disk is NOT write protected if you want your score saved for all posterity. Hint.... try and avoid moving your mouse in fast sweeping moves as this interferes with the sampled sounds and makes them waver. This will not affect the programs ability to run but it does detract from the pleasure of the samples and can also ruin your concentration. Move the mouse gently and positively and you will achieve your objects and maintain concentration. When you have lost all lives or completed all levels you have the option to play the game again and the elapsed time taken to reached your current objective will be shown below the play again banner. Note: If your ST utilises the internal clock to maintain the current time this will have to be reset after using Match Maker as the game resets the clock to 00:00:00 before play. The possibility of unforseen errors occurring are remote as the program has been thoroughly tested - but we still have 'Sods Law' to contend with. If any 'unforseen' errors occur you will be asked to contact DCS if they persist..... note the numbers shown on the screen and send these with your disk to DCS and the problem will be hunted out and rectified. Resuming the program after any unforseen errors will reset all variables and you will start from the beginning again. If you have enjoyed Match Maker or have any comments or queries about DCS programs please feel free to write to DCS at the address below. All good wishes.....
