This demo is admittedly short and sparse in its features, but we have
placed it in the public domain due to numerous requests and hope that
you will enjoy it and perhaps whet your appetite for the real thing! 

To play the demo, you will need a color monitor, and a joystick plugged
into port1 of your ST. INIT.TOS and DEMO.DAT  MUST be on the same
disk as the DEMO.PRG in order to run. If you have a MIDI synthesizer,
plug it in and enjoy the opening song through your amplifier!

To play the demo, move the joystick either left, right, up, or down
to move Nigel (that's our hero!).  To pick up or drop objects, open 
doors, or go up or down stairs, press the joystick button.

The current item in Nigel's hand is displayed in the status bar at the
right. You may select a different item in the status box simply by
clicking on it with the mouse.

GOLD OF THE REALM (the REAL game) has 320 different screens to explore
in search of the hidden treasure.  There are three levels of 
difficulty, with the most castles, foes, and objects being in the HARD
degree of difficulty.  In addition, there are 4096 different possible
variations of the HARD level, keeping GOLD OF THE REALM always new.
So, if you finish the game once or even a thousand times, it will still 
be different next time you play it!

You may RESTART, PAUSE, SAVE, or LOAD at any time during game play.

If you have a MIDI synthesizer, plug it in and enjoy beautiful music
during the musical sequences of GOLD OF THE REALM.

MANUAL.
