FSII WW1.TXT These are situations I have found interesting to use in the Flight Simulator II World War 1 program. I have made eight basic and twelve advanced situations. The filename "F7_BASIC" is for some BASIC FLIGHT situations that are named: TAKEOFF LANDING TURNING HIGH ALT SCOUTING DOGFIGHT 1 DOGFIGHT 2 HIGH ALT ATTACK REPAIR & REFUEL The Setup for BASIC FLIGHT is: Single screen (view is out of cockpit) Auto-coord on (automaticly coordinates ailerons and rudder) TAKEOFF Set nose up, ailerons and rudder straight, throttle to full open. When you reach about 60 knots your aircraft will take off. From there on you're on your own. LANDING You have come out of your approach and leveled off. Your flaps are down, engine speed has been cut to one half. You should be loosing altitude. When you get about fifty feet above the ground bring your nose up a little. When you hit the ground bring your engine speed all the way down and hit the brakes.(The ground is at about 470 feet according to the altimeter.) TURNING You have been set into a banking turn, the yoke has been brought back to center to allow you to remain in the turn. To come out, move the yoke to the opposite direction of the turn you're in, when you're level bring yoke back to center position. (An easy way to center the yoke is to hit "5" on the numeric keyboard.) HIGH ALT SCOUTING Scouting enemy territory. When this was setup war was not declared, but if you select this situation following one in which war WAS declared it will still be "war declared". DOGFIGHT 1 Enemy aircraft in sight, you are diving to attack. If you have selected this situation without having previously declared war, you'll have to declare war (shift w) to encounter the enemy. DOGFIGHT 2 Enemy aircraft in sight, you are diving to attack. Enemy is closer than in dogfight 1, you have less time to react. Remember to declare war, if you haven't already, before selecting this situation. HIGH ALT ATTACK Your mission is to bomb all enemy targets. All attacking enemy aircraft are below. Remember to declare war if you haven't already. REPAIR & REFUEL This situation can be used to repair all aircraft damage, reload ammunition and bombs, as well as refuel, during any war. You must not be "paused" or all the above will not take place. The filename "F7_ADVAN.CED" is for some ADVANCED FLIGHT situations that are named: REPAIR & REFUEL HANGER FRONT HANGER BACK HANGER LOOP HIGH ALT.ATTACK STORM ATTACK UPSIDEDOWN ATT. GROUND ATTACK FULL SCREEN ATT SPLITSCREEN ATT DOG FIGHT 1 DOG FIGHT 2 The setup for ADVANCED FLIGHT is: Multi-screen (cockpit view and spot view) Auto-coord off The attack and dogfight situations assume you have already declared war. Some Weather conditions have been set. I think using only the keyboard controls to manuever the plane is easier than using the mouse in these situations. REPAIR & REFUEL can be used to repair any aircraft damage, fill tanks with fuel, renew bomb load and ammunition, and restore all six enemy aircraft. After observing that all the above has been done, you can take off from there or you can then select any of the other available situations. HANGER FRONT is a high altitude approach to the front end of the hanger. Can you fly thru? HANGER BACK is a low altitude approach to the back end of the hanger. This approach is easier than the front end approach. HANGER LOOP You are now upsidedown over the hanger. Without any help from you the loop will be completed and level flight will be resumed. It's yours from then on. HI ALT.ATTACK Cloud conditions have been set. If you dive steeply, you will encounter the enemy below. STORM ATTACK Clouds, winds, turbulence, and ground fog have been set. This one is not easy. UPSIDEDOWN ATT. You are upsidedown over enemy territory. Beware of oil pressure dropping and oil temperature getting hotter. This will kill the engine if you continue upsidedown too long. GROUND ATTACK You have landed at enemy base one. Enemy planes are attacking. You can stay and fight or try to take off and evade the enemy. FULL SCREEN ATT. Full screen cockpit view. Enemy approaching for attack. SPLITSCREEN ATT Split screen, cockpit view and spot view. Enemy approaching for attack. DOGFIGHT 1 You are in a dive, enemy in sight. Can you shoot them down? DOGFIGHT 2 You are in a dive, enemy in gunsight. BONZAI!!! Remember, to load the situations into Flight Simulator II you must rename either file to "F7" because that is the only filename it looks for.
