Information:

This is a Shareware release of CFNTODMF, which converts CFN calamus 
fonts to PageStreams DMF font file format.

The program work on all Atari STs in high resolution, 
and a ramdisk is highly recommended for speed and comfort.
        
The CFNTODMF folder should contain the following files:

        CFNTODMF.PRG
        CFNTODMF.RSC
        CFNTODMF.TXT
        CFNTODMF.ICN
        CFNTODMFM.ICN
        And a folder with example files for use with CFNTODMF,
        CFN-files.

How to use CFNTODMF:

To start CFNTODMF double-click on CFNTODMF.PRG, and it will start as a 
normal GEM-application in high resolution only. A different method to 
start CFNTODMF, is to drop a font file on the CFNTODMF icon, but this 
will only work on machines with TOS 2.00 and upwards. When you start 
CFNTODMF by dropping a font file onto it, the conversion of this file 
starts imediately and the converted file will be saved to the same 
directory as the source file.

First of all you get an fileselector. Select the calamus font you will
convert, and then click OK.

Now you enter the main program screen. Here will you find all the 
settings before the conversion takes place.

Select the CFN-path, this is where you store your CFN-font files 
As mentioned above, a ram disk for this task is highly recommended. 
You must also select the path where your converted fonts will be saved 
to, this is the DMF-path.

You can edit the font name before the conversion by clicking on the
font name line, and then enter a name of your choice. Also remeber to
choose a font number for your converted file, this is described in your
PageStream manual.

You can select four different font attributes for your converted font,
they are:

        Normal
        Bold
        Oblique
        Bold Oblique


Click on the CONVERT! button, and off you go...

To convert another font, select a new font file from the fileselctor
which appears after the conversion is finished or select the CANCEL 
button to quit CFNTODMF.

Some essential notes to CFNTODMF:

* Calamus font-files which is bigger than 37Kb will not load into
  PageStream. You will get a dialouge box when you try to load fonts 
  which are bigger than 37 Kb. You can cut off the file so it will load
  happily into PageStream, or Continue. You will lose some of the fonts
  at the end of the file, when you select cut off. If continue is selected
  will the converted font not work propely in PageStream.

* Copyprotected fonts can be converted, but the converted font will in
  almost every attempt be damaged.

If you have any problems with some font-files, then send them to 
Eines Computing on a 720 Kb floppy diskette.
