THE SONNETEER DEMO VERSION This is a demo version of The Sonneteer. Users who have used Shakespeare: The Sonnets or Browning: The Sonnets will find this program very familiar with a few changes and additions. The formost addition being that now you are not limited to one database. If you order extra modules or take advantage of the special packages, you will be able to sample other poets who have indulged in the form of poetry known as the sonnet. The demo is similar to the actual version except: -- You will be bombarded with an ad for the complete program. -- The screen will be marked, because of the ads I have included. These and color changes do not occur in the complete version. -- Only a couple of shortened databases have been included The program is not complete, but it will give you the feel of the complete program. Colors may be restored at the touch of a key. A vivid 16 colors may be used on screen at one time. -- Color shifting allows the user to experiment with possibilities (What if I...) -- Pictures may be saved to the disk by clicking with the mouse or by tapping the "S" key on the keyboard. The picture will be saved with the default colors of the program. -- Pictures may be sent to the printer for coloring with conventional crayons, markers or paint. -- A picture can be started over by tapping the UNDO key and the last brush stroke can be corrected by tapping the HELP key. This is a change from previous versions which used the + and - keys. -- There is a color dot at the top of the palette strip that indicates which color is currently being used. -- The GAME menu choice on the palette strip now opens another menu that offers much more than the older ECCB. There are the two standard games, but now there is a color identification game, the ability to add tunes to the pictures, the ability to add frames to the pictures, and the option to set up a small slide show of your saved pictures. -- Through the GAME menu you may now add "toys" to the pictures, from a graphic menu selection 40 to select from. These may then be colored along with the rest of the picture. -- Toys may be used as drawing tools. -- ECCB7 can now be set to one of three languages for the interface: English, Spanish, or French. When one of these is selected the commands and instructions will be in that language. You can even change languages in the middle of program operation. -- There is a language indicator at the top of the screen in the palette strip that will alert you to your choice of languages. -- Manual contains a glossary of over 80 terms and phrases used in ECCB7, in English, Spanish and French. (See APPENDIX B, at the end of the manual.) -- Colored pictures can have their colors cycled to give a flashing psychedelic show in the dark. -- Pictures are no longer saved as a default name, only. You may use the default or give the picture a name of your choice. -- The program now offers assorted error traps that allow you to recover in case of full disks, no disk, bad disks, etc. -- Most dialogue boxes are picture pretty now, not just alert type. -- An image of Eliemouse now appears along with his compliment on screen. -- The magic paint brush has a new form and appears magically at the start of the program. The brush is now outlined with the current color. -- Colors may be selected from the picture rather than going back over to the palette. -- ECCB7 allows the creation of musical scripts that can be played while viewing a picture. -- There is a "T" tune indicator at the top of the palette strip that will allow you to play a tune for the picture, if one has been selected. -- ECCB7 now allows fills for greater variety. Up to 30 different fills may be selected to color any parts of the picture. -- Pictures may now be enhanced with a designer label created on screen and then stamped anywhere on the picture, clear or solid labels are offered. -- Labels may be colored or patterned and even have toys added to them. -- A blank screen may instantly be loaded on screen and then filled with objects from the TOYS menu for coloring. -- A "string art" key is available to instantly fill the screen with geometric lines that can be filled or colored at will. -- F-keys are now available to execute the 10 most useful commands in the program. Of course other keys are used to duplicate mouse commands. -- Manual now contains a Quick Key sheet that graphically shows the most important commands used in ECCB7. -- Manual has educational color fact pages.
