Title : Storm the Castle
Filename : STORMER1.WAD
Author : Tim MacLachlan
Email Address : t.maclachlan@uea.ac.uk
Misc. Author Info : senior Music student at University of
                          East Anglia, Norwich, England

Description : I wanted to create a real 'castle' level,
and the floor design is based loosely
on a real castle; Castle Lachlan in
Argyll, Scotland. I also wanted the level
to have a sense of paranoia about it, so
when playing one doesn't know where the
next attack is coming from, and sometimes,
just when you think you have cleared an
area, you trigger a trap and are ambushed.
The aim is to storm the castle and once
inside, defend it from monster attacks.

On the East is a chasm with the exit at
the bottom, you cant see it unless you
jump in, which I dont advise doing :)
To get to the exit you need to trigger
5 switches to raise platforms up to the
height of the exit so you can get to it.
These are scattered throughout the level.

-----> In the 'dungeons' (hell like area) in
IMPORTANT!-----> the room with the yellow key perched on top
-----> of three blocks, you will need to activate
three switches to lower the platforms which
are behind the walls near the key. The walls
will be moved away when you shoot the grey
'target' columns in the nearby room. Activate
these targets by running towards the lift and
then running back before they are covered up
again. The three switches MUST BE ACTIVATED
IN THE RIGHT ORDER otherwise it is impossible
to get the key. (Little IQ test 4 you).

When you have activated ALL 5 SWITCHES for
the exit platforms, run back to the exit
hell-hole thingy pit and pray to a Doom god
and lining with the room entrance, fall off.
You should land on the platforms and be
able to walk to the exit.

Additional Credits to : ANDRE LUCAS for his know-how on how to
align the upper and lower textures,
around windows that everyone else says
is impossible. Well, it's not impossible.
Check out his DETH1.WAD for the ultimate
                          how_to_align_those_blasted_textures experience.
Also for his vast experience of how to
                          get DEU to function properly.
                          The ID GODS, of course
                          The makers of DEU, BSP.

# Some music was written especially for this level for General MIDI.
Unfortunately it sounds unworthy on the Soundblaster. So it is
included under the file GMMUSIC.ZIP if you have a General
MIDI card. For maximum appreciation listen to it on the Soundwave 32
with Invision ROMS. :)
